I’m thinking about going gluten free, so I can be more annoying and smug in the real world, has anyone else got this very serious illness and how do you cope with annoying restaurant staff ?

Don't make sense to me. Gluten free means there's less ingredients so it should be cheaper?!

Someone somewhere started it as a joke and it got out of hand, now it’s an industry.

Up yer game, it’s way better to be a gluten free vegan.

Also, most stuff never needed to change anything to adjust to the craze of it all. Just stick a big sticker on the packet and it’s now 50p more.

It would be great to hear from sufferers of this made up condition.

By very serious illness are you being sarcastic about those who make the choice or sufferers of Coeliac disease, such as my father and brother, who have no choice?

"It would be great to hear from sufferers of this made up condition. "

I can assure you that Coeliac disease is very real.

It is an auto-immune disorder where the pressence of gluten triggers the body to attack itself and can lead to furter issues such as bowel cancer.

My friend has it, as does her mum. She is currently getting treated for bowel cancer. Awful thing. When my friend goes off her diet, even for one day, she suffers terribly for it.

My brother is very ill if any gluten gets into his body.

He's usually extremely careful but on occasion, if eating out anywhere, cross contamination can be a real problem. Some establishments are better than others

Sorry to hear this.

I was tested for coeliac but came back negative, going to ask for more tests though as symptoms still very much align with it. Though thankfully not as severe as some get it.

You should definitely get more testing done. I'm glad it's not as severe as some though lovely
