Makes me laugh how Android users seem to think they’re the rebel outliers when Android has about 80% market share. You’re the sheep
Personally I’m iPhone, iPad, MacBook, watch. They all work and they all work together |

"Android here because although I admire apples hardware and software, I despise the company's philosophy. "
What exactly is it that you think their philosophy actually is?
Out of all the big tech companies, I’d trust Apple with my data more than any others.
I think they probably do more in terms of recycling and environmental stuff, with their data centres running (IIRC) entirely on renewable energy now.
As Tim Cook said once:
“If you pay for services, you’re the customer.
If you get the services for free, you’re the product.” |

Correct but only because apple doesnt want their operating system used in competitive smartphones, not that its anything special.
Android doing this allows a wider range of phones for different people and budgets. IPhone may be the most powerful smartphone out there (day by day) but even then it is way overpriced considering much cheaper phones can be just as competitive at a much lower price.
That is why android is the largest market share. |

I know why Android has a bigger market share. That doesn’t stop Android users being pious about their choice. At the end of the day, none of it matters. iPhone or Android. It’s a phone. Just a phone. Nothing more than a phone. I instinctively know how to use iOS. I make calls, send texts and emails and sometimes take photos on it. Some people talk as though they want a pat in the back like they invented the bloody thing, not went into Carphone Warehouse and bought one |

I don't like the way apple build in a slow fail on their devices, I think it's really naughty.
I have some apple and some android but I stick with android for my phone.
I prefer it because it seems to work more intuitively for me. |

a quandary, could you change my mind? |
Just upgraded my phone and laptop to non apple products. So many apps etc I can get for free that apple charge for.
Build quality/battery life is as good as apple, with the addition of being able to swap between the manufacturers about for the best of the best. |

"Which one have you got ?
Always a debate whether at the pub or work."
Switched to Samsung from years of iPhone because each new generation offered nothing worth having, then Samsung went the way of apple with stupid pricing, locking down and samsungisation. Just switched to Huawei and revelation in 2-3 day battery life. With everything on, no pages of tips to make your battery last a whole working day for hours. It just lasts. |

iPhone is much better optimized and provides longer update support.
Android is cheaper to buy and upkeep, and is much more customisable.
Both have great specs and features that the other doesn't have.
It's that simple. |

And there’s nothing remotely worrying with the world letting a pretty much state owned Chinese tech company have the ability to harvest any data they want!!
They may as well be called Skynet is all’s i’m saying |

Why do you care if they harvest your data? Are you doing something illegall? Or are you annoyed by personalized ads? If it's simply a matter of privacy, you would have to literally stop using the internet completely to prevent intrusion. |

I've always been a apple girl but my last iPhone has been terrible. (iPhone 7) so I've swapped to Android, it's taking some getting used to but the camera is better and the battery power etc so I'm hoping I won't regret my swap |

Always had iPhones but switched to Samsung because of the battery issues as others have previously said. My last iPhone was only limping along for the last year. |

Love how my iPhone and iPad just work so simply and in harmony.
Wife had android for years but now has an iPhone and no longer gets frustrated by her phone. |

Over the roundabout and then turn right. |
I once had an iPhone. I loved it. One day Apple forced an update on it. Since then the proximity sensor no longer worked. That meant every time I put the phone to my ear to have a conversation, the screen remained active and my ear opened up all sorts of apps, muting calls, and other nonsense. The phone was effectively unusable. Thousands of other iphone users had the exact same issue. I complained to Apple. No response. I complained again. No response. I phoned them directly. Their solution? "Buy a new phone." So I did. It wasn't Apple branded though, and neither was any phone I have bought since, and neither will any phone I buy in the future. |

Samsung is not known for their great batteries
With the exception of Note 9. |

My last iPhone became so bad after an update that anything would be better. At least the Samsung charges relatively quickly. |

They did that on purpose and apologiesed and offered to replace the battery for £30. It's still unacceptable what they did though. |

I nearly risked one but was worried that, with what is going in in the US, they could in some way get blocked. Unlikely but didn't want to take the risk. |

How would they get blocked and what's the US gotto do with it, they don't control our phone companies. People do worry about some bizarre stuff. |

The Huawei CFO, and I believe daughter of the founder, has been arrested in Canada on a US extradition warrant. |

And the US has also repeatedly voiced concerns about the use of Huawei devices including banning their use on sensitive internal networks and advising against their use by allies... |

Why do people who have Androids think they’re some kind of mavericks because they don’t have an i phone, it’s hardly living off the grid, they’re quite popular you know. |
