Twelfth night

I never know if its today or tomorrow but we're (supposed to be) taking our decorations and tree down today. We've faltered in favour of toasted sandwiches, coffee and Christmas chocolates . When do your decorations come down? |

"Taking mine down today. Only actually got the tree left to take down now x "
Our tree's down and everything is wrapped in tissue and put in boxes but the furniture still needs moving back to its normal place, the hoover needs to be deployed and a good spray of Mr Sheen wouldn't go amiss. |

"12_th night is tomorrow January 6. All trees and decorations should be down before tomorrow night to avoid supposed bad luck if you believe in that sort of thing "
Is it, thank you I always get mixed up. I don't believe in the bad luck thing. |

I was gonna take my tree down when B left just before Xmas. He didn't let me.
I'm sitting next to it now with zero motivation.
I'm tempted to just push it over or cover it with a blanket
I'll sort it on my next day off.
I promise.

cover it with a blanket. I really dislike taking the tree down but it's a good feeling once it's done |

They're scratchy bastards.
I might just get a cat and let the bugger destroy it day by day |

"We took ours down on the 31st Dec as we were out for NYE and back at work on the 2nd so figured it was the only time to get it done."
My mum used to take hers down on the 27th she couldn't bear it up after Christmas |

I'll send ours over, it would take him about 20 minutes |

The ones that make me laugh are those that get all excited and put them up stupidly early in October/November then complain like hell on Facebook about them the day after Christmas and can’t wait to take them down lol |

Having them up for one month is long enough |

"Didn't put any up, so I'm cleaning out kitchen cupboards instead.
Good move. I could schedule that in for next week. I probably won't though "
Spur of the moment thing for me.
I went shopping and while I was trying to find room in the cupboard I found three packets of spaghetti.
I thought it was time to sort them out.
I found a box of Paxo that ran out of date a year ago this month. |

Wait, I'll ask him.
No, sorry he said he doesn't have opposable thumbs so it isn't possible |

I often find things like paprika that's wildly out of date. |

"I've done it today,it looks like xmas never happened in my home. I miss my xmas fairy lights, silly me went to flick them on,damn thing's are boxed away aren't they."
I kept all the battery operated lights out, piled them into a gold bowl and set them on the coffee table, just to keep the dark at bay for another week or two |

Today. Although I'm feeling a bit under the weather so have been giving helpful advice as to how to put them away from the sofa. The house looks so bare and I'm itching to paint it and get new sofas. |

Took ours down Today as it’s the 12th night and for a change I wanted to keep them up as usually I take them down on New Year’s Day. I felt I’d had enough bad luck last year so didn’t want to take them down too early. I’m a daft sod i know xx |

That's the problem isn't it. I bought two new throws to mitigate that feeling .
Feel better soon |

"Put ours outside, not a single needle fell off..
Very impressed and will keep it potted till next year..
That's good! A quality tree"
Yes, recycled the plastic one last year and went for one from waitrose..
At 25 quid I aim to get at least 2 years out of it.. |

Someone told me Tesco put all their trees outside on Christmas eve with notice on them saying they were free |

I didn’t - but last year I took them down late and 2018 was bloody awful - one disaster after another!
Yes - I know it’s a total coincidence - but this year I’m taking no chances and they’re coming down this evening!
I actually thought the thread was going to be about the play! |

Didn't know that, we have a couple of places locally that sell them and they were all reduced to half price on the 24th..

I don't know enough about 12th night the play to start a thread about it. Although many have suggested I could play a part in the opening scene without make up |

I've no idea how reliable the information is though you know how someone hears something that someone's sister's best friends cousin heard |
