Is it strange in uk to greet people you/they pass by im not saying in high st but neighbours or even parking waden.
Ive been living in uk since 2002 greeting some one that you dont know they sometimes reply but with dirty looks etc. Is it something unusually? |

I live in a small village and it seems to be the custom. I like it, love striking up random conversations with strangers, city life just would not suit me. |

"I live in a village, most will exchange a polite greetings. My neighbours will always stop and chat... (except the wag of pro footie player next door ) "
Hand her a straw- it might aid her breathing! |

I live in a city, and one always portrayed as a bit scary at that ! People don't really smile on the street as such, but I don't think I've ever took a bus or went to a supermarket/pub and not ended up chatting to a stranger. We like a gab. |

Its not unusual here where I live, everyone is very friendly plus there are a lot of walkers and hikers...
Everyone says hi or hello |

I lived in Norwich for a while, it was the loneliest time, you become internalised because of the lack of interaction.
Just a hello, or a smile could make someone's day.
