If animals are equal to us then it's wrong for animals to eat other animals.
If it's ok for them then it's ok for us too.
If we must be held to a higher standard than animals then that means we're superior to them and therefore we can eat them. |

A friend of mine is vegan, she's quite normal. Admittedly she does get a bit evangelical about it but that's in her nature.
I think there's room for us all and most of us would do well to eat less meat, care a bit more for animal welfare and the effect intensive farming has on the planet. |

I accept that a lot of vegans love to let everyone else know that they are vegan , and are very vocal in praising their choice .
But there are plenty who just get on with their life the same as anyone else .
In a world that promotes tolerance of others , I can’t see too much of that going on towards vegans , who have chosen to live a life that doesn’t involve the suffering of animals , fish and insects .
By all means have a go at the militant vegans who bombard us with their beliefs while eating out , or who show sickening videos to kids in the street , but the ones who just co exist and don’t make a fuss , fair play to them . We could all do with helping the planet by eating a bit less meat . |

Been veggie pretty much my entire life and vegan for 2 years and have nothing against meat eaters.
I can't abide these new vegans who continually shove it down your throat. |

I appreciate the fact that it's up to individuals to make their own choices as to what they eat, wear etc, but it's almost become a fashion to be 'vegan' these days. There tends to be a lot of sheeple about who claim to be vegan because their favourite celebrity is or their circle of friends are rather than for ethical reasons. I don't honestly think a lot of these fashion vegans actually understand what veganism is and what it entails. You see so many who don't eat meat, but will wear leather shoes, fury hoods made out of factory farmed dogs fur and carry around leather handbags. |
