a quandary, could you change my mind?

Had some crumble mice pies which were great but I have no idea what make. The best ones I've had were home made.

I hate mince pies... well the ones you buy anyway. They taste like sweet cardboard with a bit of sugary fruit thrown in bluergggh!

Somewhere In The Ether…

The only mince pies I have ever enjoyed, were the ones that my Nan used to make.

She had the sweetness just right and her pastry was gastronomically, heavenly!

Alas.....she sadly took the magic recipe to the grave with her

I was about to say Lacey brand.

Second only to my late grammar. She did exceptional ones, bless her soul. X

My mum's mince pies were lovely.

Shop bought ones are too dry, except for the puff pastry ones. They are dangerously moreish.

I had my first taste of clotted cream this year, on cream and jam scones.

I got some mini mince pies from the farmers market before Christmas and we had them warm with extra thick cream

They were amazing - thank god they're all gone - I literally can't stop eating

We bought Aldi slow gin mince tarts which were lovely.

However, hubby also persuaded me to make some and they’re a million times better than any shop bought

Gave up pies (and pastry in general) for the diet. Been struggling with xmas temptations though...

Aldi did a gorgeous giant mince pie this year, with cherries on top. Not only couldnt I resist it, I went for a second portion.

Morrisons (clear pack) mince pies are usually good but I'm not keen on any of the boxed varieties, whatever the maker.
