Unwanted Crimbo presents.

Just read an article online about unwanted unwrapped presents being sold on eBay. One was a best Dad mug being sold which I actually felt upset about.

I don’t think anything I had this year I’d give away as it was brought with lots of thought.

Brighton - even Hove!

Nothing wrong with re-gifting or charity or indeed selling an unwanted item. Too bad about the ‘best dad’ one though. He obviously wasn’t.

We don't know both sides of the story though.

I've never sold or re-gifted but me and my sister often swap presents that we've received from family members. I think sometimes they get us confused.

We all loved our gifts this year. I've seen lots of my friends on fb selling their stuff, I think it's a bit crass tbh.

I don't sell gifts. Some of them I have no use for, so I'll wrap them next year and put them to the Giving Tree, which gives gifts to those less fortunate.

I had a book which I already own so will sell or give that away but otherwise I usually keep gifts.

..

I didn’t receive anything that I would want to part with. I’ve never had a need to to re-gift but if I did have something I didn’t want for whatever reason I would try to donate to charity. I wouldn’t sell anything and the-gifting is something you have to be careful doing. Make sure your admin is up to speed!

King's Crustacean

Maybe the person selling the mug wasn't the 'dad' that got the mug as a gift.

Could be he bought two and decided to sell one cos he got his dad a better one.

What's wrong with getting rid of stuff .... that's all it is STUFF a pile of shite that if you held on to every year would fill your house and you'd have to move out.

A close family member once gave me a glass spaghetti jar with a packet of Tesco spaghetti in it.

I guess that it's the thought that counts.

I noticed things for sale on Facebook labelled unwanted Christmas gift around 11 am on Christmas day. .

I receive gifts from Mr N, our daughter, my parents and a close friend. I always like all of them. I think the potential for unwanted gifts increases with the number and variety of donors.
