Doesn't it depend on the thickness of the trunk?

"Put your dead Christmas tree in your Brown bin?"

I do, some authority's collect them if they're next to the brown bin but cut in half if over 6ft tall

It should be on the website of your council

Our brown bin is for food waste. Garden waste is a green bin.

Have you got any local scout troops?

They used to collect in return for a charity donation.

Not before January 6th.

Taking down your Christmas before the 12th night is very unlucky.

After that you’re perfectly entitled to chop up the tree and brown bin it.

I did try- need to plan better. Apparently finding a 6' tree in a pot is hard.

Update- the nice bin man took it.

I asked him if it go in next time if I cut it up and he offered to take it for me there and then

Can't leave it until then- January birthday for my daughter- Christmas is long gone by then, plus I am not superstitious

Start with a 2 foot one or even a cutting and watch it grow over the years with your child
