The longest night was December 20th ( I think ) and the sun didn't rise until just after 8 a.m on Friday 21st.
I won't be able to drive home in daylight until the very end of Feb or mid March.

Earliest sunset and longest night don't line up exactly. Earliest sunset is in early December and after that the evenings gradually stay lighter longer. Latest sunrise is in early January and up until then the mornings stay darker later. The two combine to give the longest night at a point between the two. |
