I reckon it's due to how long ago they were changed. Like the name database still thinks the name is in use. Once it's refreshed the names will be free again.

As someone who used to leave and re-join often in the same breath, I can confirm that profile names get put on the back shelf for a bit after they are changed or the member leaves |
