It seems like some hilarious wag had done that to a few people (see Taffs thread).
I think it’s happened in previous years, in the festive name change thread someone warned about it, so I immediately protected mine (so yah boo if anyone tried to steal mine!  )
But anyway, hopefully it was a good natured practical joke and they’ll release all the names soon. If they don’t then it takes a twat of monumental proportions to have done that!
I’m erring on the side of a jolly japester for now but we’ll see .,, |

Do the old usernames not become un-available for a while when you relinquish them? This is quite common in databases, try again in a few more days. There are loads of folk reporting the same issue.

Do the old usernames not become un-available for a while when you relinquish them? This is quite common in databases, try again in a few more days. There are loads of folk reporting the same issue.

No, I opened a new account with my old name to ‘save it’ and about an hour ago deleted that account and was able to instantly change back to my old / current name! So this is deliberate!
Either a practical joke (hopefully) or someone being a twunt.... |
