Drink to excess

On the back on a poor fabber who clearly is feeling a little delicate this morning, why do people feel the need to drink more than they can handle, i have a five pint limit these days, any more and that’s me done in, not bothered that i’m a light weight when it comes to drinking, id rather stay in control and not lose a day thank get absolutely shitfaced and end up vomiting over the person next to me in the taxi rank queue.

Do you stop when you’ve reached your limit, or just drink till you can’t stand anymore?

I like a good drink a couple of times a week, just lager no spirits involved.Walk to and from pub never sick anywhere.Like you say if you are a bit of a lightweight then maybe best not to have too many.

It's not really the quantity that I drank last night....

Four points and a large whiskey

But I believe it was the couple of glasses of red wine I had when I came in that undid me

Never mix grape and grain

Always sensible from now on. Tipsy is enough for me.

I went on a works do once drinking absinthe an blacked out. I lost my shoe and ended up in some woman's house who had pet tarantula's and snakes.

That’s very true. I rarely drink anyway but when I do I only have two at the most. Except the memorable cocktail tasting incident on holiday this year

I'm blessed/cursed with hollow legs when it comes to ale but spirits in any form mixed or otherwise just ruin me and not in a good way..

Always staggers me how so many people never find there limit with alcohol i mean we practice enough

I try and keep to moderation these days, no more than ten pints of lager and five tequila shots.

Anymore and I’ll wake up feeling a bit jaded.

I can’t really drink much. Two and I’m tactile and tipsy, three and I’m d*unk. It’s a fine line

I used to drink way too much. Was in the trade for a while which didn't help but neither did having in-laws that were borderline alcoholics.

These days it can be weeks between a drink. I still have unopened bottles of spirits that were bought for be several Xmas's ago.

Helps that Fox barely touches a drop all year round.

that's enough to put you off for life

I like to have a few glasses of wine - but gone are the days where I used to drink myself silly and end up doing things I regret.

Far too many to mention!

I know when to stop now - most of the time

I love a drink but ive never been out of control or not known what I’ve done. I’ve done some bloody stupid things but I’ve always known I did them! I’m just sick though if I have too much, I literally know to the actual sip of wine when I need to stop. It’s only wine though, anything else I can drink all night and be fine!

I don't have a limit, I just keep going. Never sick and lose control. I just get quite merry.

However, I very rarely drink to the point where I'm going to have a hangover these days.

I've been d*unk d*unk twice this year. Hate hangovers, takes 2 days for me to recover and feel normal.

Cant drink like I used to anymore.

Glad that I know my limits now, and I always find that a tactical glass or water or two helps, and I can keep drinking and stay tipsy.

Recently discovered that a couple of bananas, and more water before sleeping stops me getting a hangover

Never tried, but for some reason after suffering for years they suddenly stopped when I turned 25 and luckily have never returned

Cava is a favourite of mine.

A nice dry crisp bubbly cava yummy!

But too much of it gives me a hangover

I openly admit I do drink everyday but never to excess. 2 or 3 pints during the week and 5-6 on a Saturday and a Sunday. Its been years since I got shit faced. I know when I've had enough.

I believe it is true, that if you only drink bubbly, you do get d*unk, but there’s no hangover

Its something about the English and i dont know why.

A lot of our Europeans neighbours have a different approach to alcohol.

Drink and enjoy rather than drink until you shit yourself

from the womb and tryout to get back

I tend to only drink a couple of times a year and make sure someone is always sober in an emergency as I won't drive at all the next day I just don't think it's worth it you can still have just as much fun without drinking and as I don't mind making a fool of myself I usually end up the one in the cage or pole dancing anyway

Yes. I think it's something about being repressed and inhibited.

It’s something that is now endemic in our society. You can only have a good time if you’ve d*unk the bar dry. And by that if your not drinking your not having a good time.

This needs to and will change, but there’s so much depending on the Friday thru to Sunday binges.

I don't drink very much at all and my alcohol tolerance is very low. I'm merry after two drinks. Although I've had a drink the last 3 evenings as its Christmas, I don't need to drink to enjoy myself.
