I'm so excited. I've got everything wrapped, most of the food bought but still a few bits and pieces to pick up. Christmas eve all i plan to do is watch christmasc films and drink champagne |

I'm in Manchester to do the last of last of the Christmas shopping and have a Pre-Christmas meal with a friend which will nice. We did this last year as well lol |

So why is Christmas not like it used to be? How was it different in the past? Is it commercialism (I always remember it being do), to do with age as we grow older, more family break ups, greater work pressures, or something else? |

We as adults are the ones having to create and organise the magic if it rather than just revelling in the magic of it as a kid, or by being a guest and turning up |

I'm sure it would be more enjoyable of it was christmas day .....
But shops and people made it christmas 2 months so it's lost its meaning .
Bit like celebrating a birthday before the big day ..
Not that I'm bothered I'm single live alone and never have celebrated it .
I'm usually in tenerife by now but my mum's a bit wobbly so not going incase she needs Me.
Christmas in the sun much more fun and healthier .. |

After all of the stress and pressure of the build up, this is the time that I start to enjoy. Presents are bought, only a few bits of food to buy now and the wrapping to do. Then I can invest in the excitement of the kids and actually enjoy it. |
