Well I’ve put about a stone on since joining the site - so I blame Fab! I’ll be starting a diet and fitness regime early next year!

"It could be a reflection of the general population which continues to get larger on average. In all honesty I think Fab is a mixed blessing for us ladies - and I’m speaking from a personal vantage point here! It’s great that we get lots of confidence boosting threads/messages etc etc - but in my case it’s made me complacent too! I used to be a size 10, a regular gym attendee and fairly fit! I KNOW that’s not the be and end all - and I have more self confidence now than I did then - but I do think there needs to be more of a balance - for myself and perhaps for others who might have ‘lapsed ‘ recently - between having a positive body image/self confidence and in maintaining good health and fitness levels - I know I need to regain that balance very early in the new year before my health is detrimentally affected!

"I find this post rather offensive to be honest. People have different reasons for being overweight; physical, emotional, medical etc. To just suggest "let's all lose weight and get healthy in 2019" is insulting. Who's going to provide the counsellors to those people who's issues run deep? Who's going to find the miracle drug that doesn't have a side effect on making you put on weight? Why don't we stop concentrating on the physical and look at the person underneath; that's where real beauty lies. I, for one, can say that there are less beautiful people on fab than they would have you believe!!!" I'm sorry you are offended by a forum post.

"Been off and on here for time. Myself included do people think the average weight of people on this site has increased? Browsing the pics I would say yes they have." Having just returned from a four year hiatus I can't see any difference between now and then. Still plenty of gym fit guys flexing their muscles and displaying ripped abs thinking that's what all the women like. Still plenty of size 8 women clogging up the hot pics pages. Still plenty of larger folk too. The majority seem pretty happy and content with their lives and those that aren't don't fall into any size camp. If you're basing your assumption on pics that you've been browsing then maybe the results are skewed by the photos you're looking at? So no - I don't think anything's changed at all. Nor will it ever. A

He didn't say it was a good or bad thing so where's the offence? "I know I'm putting on weight because I eat and drink too much, and move to little. It ain't rocket science. " Exactly! Easily solved (unless it’s medical of course) My weight’s always been up and down. If I put a stone on I know why! And no point moaning about it, I just do something about it. Many people are big and happy and good on them. When I put weight on I’m not happy.

I, for one, can say that there are less beautiful people on fab than they would have you believe!!! I'm sorry you are offended by a forum post. Stephen Fry- "It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so fucking what." But that's not all that was said. We have a variety of reasons why we might be overweight and there's no one answer. " This is true! However - the majority of us - myself definitely included here - are putting weight on because - compared to previous generations - we eat more and exercise less! Most of us eat more processed food, drive more and walk less! This is an unarguable fact born out by very readily available statistics - and a million health reports and tv documentaries! In my case I know it’s just laziness - I can’t blame underlying mental issues or any other factors other than arthritis and a slightly weak heart - which make being fit and healthy a little more difficult but certainly not impossible! There are - and always will be - those who gain weight due to psychological issues/underlying health issues etc etc - but that certainly isn’t all of us! I suggested a 2019 health and fitness thread as a mutual support group for others in the same boat as me! Not at any point did I - or would I - suggest that EVERYONE should feel compelled to come on board with this! There have been support threads on this and other areas on the forums for as long as Fab has been around! Surely that’s not a bad thing for those who want to give each other moral support? If you’re going to slam that - then you may as well slam weight watchers and slimmers world too!! And in answer to another poster - not at any time on this thread has there been an assumption that being slim equates to being beautiful! The op simply asked for people’s opinion on weight trends on fab in recent years as far as I can tell - and I - answering only for myself - confirmed that I’ve put on weight since joining fab!

"I know I'm putting on weight because I eat and drink too much, and move to little. It ain't rocket science. And others may be because of medical conditions, or difficult circumstances, or to cope with challenges where help is harder to access. And none of this is helped by shitting on people who carry excess weight. Trouble is, eating healthily and not sitting on your arse all day and night is hard work. Whereas eating crisps while watching the soaps is easy. There's millions and millions of overweight people in this country, a small percentage have physical or mental health problems that make keeping weight off almost impossible. The rest, like me, are fucking lazy and eat too much." totally agree

The problem is it isn't that simple for a lot of people mental health issues play apart and also as I said in a previous post weight and issues with food are deep-rooted for a lot of people. So yes in Theory it's very simple but in practice not so much. I know I'm overweight, I know the way to sort it out however I know this might sound like a cop-out but it isn't that simple I've got serious issues regarding my relationship with food so it's something a lot more deep rooted.

"Been off and on here for time. Myself included do people think the average weight of people on this site has increased? Browsing the pics I would say yes they have." Fab does reflect society and we do seem to be getting fatter. Read a few of the posts and .. People talk about ‘see the person not the size’ and that thinner people are somehow self-obsessed because how dare they look after themselves and more importantly their health. The biggest problem with the increase in people being happy with being unhealthily overweight is that they’re storing up all sort of problems in the future. Increased diabetes risk, heart attack risk and cancer risk. It’s not about going to the gym to lose weight, though it helps, but it’s about eating sensibly and calorie control. If you’re happy to cut years off your life, on average, then feel comfirtable being fat but we shouldn’t normalise it. Some young fat people should be taken to see a blind or amputee diabetic so they see the real cost of thinking that being fat is only about how you look.

Thanks I just need to learn how to write a better profile next, like yours, very well written and lovely photos " Thanks! Just looked and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with your profile! I do think, though, if you try to make your profile funny and interesting - people are more likely to actually read to the bottom - and it also gives them an idea of what kind of person you are! I think mine says I’m very confident but not narcissistic - and that I don’t take myself seriously! That’s what I was aiming for anyway!

"I’ll regularly take one for the team and hook up with a chunky bird, kinda like doing my part to try and help them feel better about themselves, so it’s a win/win.. Which team? Oh it’s a figure of speech.. like doing a good deed " I'm well aware. I just wondered if you were doing it for your mates or something. Tbh it would terrify me if you came onto me. I'd be convinced it was a piss take.

"Being beautiful on the outside does not make you beautiful on the inside. All the gym sessions, six packs and size 10 selfies a beautiful person do not make!! I remember being told once that beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes right to the bone."

"No Op. People haven’t changed. There have always been Swingers of all sizes and shapes. Unfortunately, in today’s plastic reality world. Unless you are a size 6 or have a toned 6 pack, then you are deemed as fat, overweight or big. How dare us for not conforming to the beautiful people club xx Exactly!... Had an interesting evening at a club once (avid people watcher).. In the jacuzzi with three of four other average to larger build cpls.. Having a great time - in walks a poster fit cpl.. Like, ripped, tanned and looking a million dollars.. They sat alone stayed alone and didn't have any fun.. Obviously too good for anyone else... Did smile.. Could it be that the fit couple are attracted to other fit couples rather than thinking they were too good? Are they not allowed to have preferences? "
