Just a food thread I'm afraid. Cooking turkey for the family this year (not my favourite). Meat, potatoes and veg sorted but I'm not really a fan of stuffing (insert joke here), but need to placate everyone.
Does anyone have any good recipes I could try?

You can buy a packet from your local supermarket that you just add water to.
Boil Kettle.
Pour required amount of boiled water.
Add stuffing Mix.
Stir.
Stick in oven for 30 mins.
Packets come in a range of sizes too |

If you want to stuff the bird, simplest way is to get a packet of paxo and mix up with hot water as per instruction. Once cooled, add roughly an equal quantity of sausage meat to the stuffing and mix together (put on gloves as it is a bit gooey and stickey)
Then take the bird, open the flap at the front end and stuff it in as hard as you can.. don't stuff it in the rear, the bird won't appreciate it and it won't cook.
Once stuffed (it can take about a large fist size of stuffing in the front) pull the flap down and underneath to stop any of the filling leaking out.
Any spare stuffing can be rolled into balls, bake them for around 40 minutes to cook through.
Make sure when you cook the bird, you baste regularly to keep it moist, nobody likes a dry bird..
Wow, I managed that with no innuendo at all.. |

I do a cranberry stuffing with sausage meat, porridge oats and cranberry jam. Can't give amounts as I'm more of a bung it together until it looks right person but I give it a good squish together in a mixing bowl then grease a loaf tin and cook it in the oven in there
