We aren't religious so we'll be eating and drinking with friends and family and giving each other gifts.

The highlight of my season this year will be going out to celebrate the solstice with both my kids, our partners, and a friend tomorrow night. Drinks and live music, a chance for all of us to be together.

I will light some candles tomorrow for Yule and also celebrate on 25th with family. We will be symbolically celebrating the turn of the year with gifts, food and warmth.

Exchanging gifts is symbolic of the gifts given to Jesus if you're a Christian

We don't all have shed loads of family. I have my kids over and we spend the day together.

Other than that I find it incredibly difficult. My problem I know. But it doesn't seem to get any easier.

Whether you understand the symbolism or not, yes it is.

There are quite a few pagan symbols in there too.

This pretty much sums it up.

Christmas is for family and friends and sharing the love.
