did your employer give you a christmas bonus in your wages this year.
ive just given a small bonus to staff on the bike orders we have for jan next year so they all got £1500 each.
hard work should be rewarded so i shared it out with everyone including the cleaner.
so what did you get? |

Ah ha ha ha! Well my actual company gives nothing! Although we do get to leave a few hours early Xmas eve. Wooo!
I buy my team Xmas gifts and drinks and food out of my own pocket. My company are tightwads!
Although we do get a (potentially) nice bonus but that’s paid in the middle of the year, not Christmas. |

one of the bikes we did for triumph as a concept has now appeared on mcn and looks like they are going to put it into production in a limited run so the guys deserved it. they put the hours in and it will only bring more customers to us.
i paid the taxes on the bonus as i wanted them to see the benefits. |

I’m public sector. My bonus is that I get to work longer for a smaller pension than I was promised, and regularly work overtime for free on a shift when I didn’t get any breaks, all while the government throws away billions and rewards themselves and inept bank managers. |

Nothing.
Xmas day and boxing have to be annual holidays.
No party, no present.
No decorations allowed.
No e mails wishing seasons greeting.
No thank you for the years work.
But.....free half day off New Year’s Eve....if we finish early enough that it is! |

Excellent, I think it encourages employees to work harder ,if they know they are appreciated |

My main job, I'm self employed. No bonus given.. The boss is a tight bitch
I have a couple of part time jobs, get gifts & bonus from those.
One we get a small % of the years profits.
The other couple bottles of our favourite drink. |

We barely get a hello from our manager let alone a bonus
It's a nice thing you did OP - being appreciated makes work feel like less of a chore.
We are constantly being offered bonuses to do overtime - but no one wants them because it's such a depressing environment.

They stop publishing our bonuses because people started being outraged at what we are getting..
We still get them but they are taxed.....it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.... |

You sound like a great boss. As Richard Branson says, If you treat your staff well, you dont have to worry about how they will treat your customers. |

I think that’s a wonderful thing for you to do for your employees. Great morale boost and lovely to feel appreciated.
I get no bonus in my sector other than a good amount of time off. Not even a Christmas party! Not had one Christmas celebration this year and I’m craving Christmas pudding and brandy butter big time! |

Do you earn commission throughout the year?
I had 3 people trying to hit their annual number and get claw back for all the commissions they'd missed through the year. Would have equated to circa 10k each had they hit |

My bonus is performance related. I’m expecting a good one "
Same as this
In a previous place we got a bottle of champagne each as a Christmas thank you |

Love that you have done that for your staff and a great attitude towards working as well. They must love working with you.
We got Christmas Eve off paid on top of the bank holidays. the bosses also signed off the tab for 2 nights out. I'm claiming back best part of £400 back spent on drinks for the 2 Christmas parties, that's only my rounds lol.
We also get bottles of wine from customers over Christmas. One client gave me £100 Amazon voucher. So I feel thankful for both the company I work for and my clients I work with.

Apart from working our arses off, doing ridiculous amounts of overtime at the busiest time of year, we both get 50 first class stamps.
We use about a dozen a year so the rest get given to our family.

Yup and me. More work, less staff and no Xmas party or anything positive for the staff for years.
On the plus side, I finish Friday and and not back until 2nd Jan.

That’s very generous.
We have an advent calendar from the team leaders.
And this year for the first time we had money given to us to get pizzas in for the team. So that was nice |

I work for a company with over 160000 employees, I'll get about 34 pounds if it's the same as last year, in line with my contract hours, better than nothing. |

I did, and a bloody decent one as well - I had a little cry when I got the letter telling me how much. The company I work for are very generous, and as staff we are treated really well, but we work hard for it.
I’ve always worked in the public or third sector up until 4 years ago, where you never got so much as Christmas cracker free, so I’m still a little gobsmacked when I get rewarded for doing my job! |

I said earlier in the thread I hadn't.
Got a call from the company director yesterday saying he'd given me a bonus
I'm more pleased with the fact my hard work has been recognised than the money. |
