"Um bongo. That was a great advert.. They drink it in the Congo.
Some would complain that ad was now racist"
And those same some would be told to "get a life". |

"Castlmaine XXXX Great adverts too!
D. "
Some showed the aussie humour of the time..
Favorite was the the shearers going in to town to load up the yuke with 4x..and as an after thought got 2 bottles of sherry and strap to the the top...
On way home driving over a rickity old bridge.. It gives way with the weight... One turns to the other and says (in broad aussie accent) "looks like we over did it with the sherry" |

"Metz. The judderman was pretty scary "
Got plastered on that when it first came out and the mere mention of the name gives me a flashback to the hangover.
Never touched an alcopop since |

Can’t advertise alcohol or sugary drinks on tv before the watershed anymore... same with cereals... when you really think about it, can you really remember the last time you saw one? |

"McEwans Best Scotch Beer- the one you got to come back for "
Oh Aye, the whole travelling series I think? "Florida's orrida than Whitley Bay, No McEwan's best Scotch in the USA...."
And I'll add Choo-choo-choo-Tuborg! to the mix...

"Mad Dog 20/20
Thunderbird
Buckfast
A"
I don’t ever remember seeing these 3 advertised. But I sure as hell remember they all played a significant part of my teens. Thunderbird especially was popular among the underage drinkers in my town, lol.
But another drink we would get and I remember there being tv adverts for it was Castaway. Think it was from the same people that gave us Diamond White and Diamond Blush. |
