I am a British citizen born and raised in London but when asked where I am from I say I am Greek Cypriot as I find if I say English / British most people ask where my parents are from when I say Cyprus they tend to say no your Greek. |

I was born in Kenya, I am British and I live in England.
I understand the distinction between English and British, but I am British and proud to be part of a United Kingdom. |

Yorkshire born and bred! We are our own nationality.
In all seriousness, I'm part Norwegian on my dad's side, I definitely feel like I'm constantly trying to hybridise the Northern British culture I grew up with, with the Norwegian lifestyle and culture I want to experience more of. |

"I say this as nowadays it’s not where you were born sometimes it’s where you grew up, I was born in Hereford
I have welsh ancestry yet l am truly very English, then British
Not European "
Edmonton, I'm English, pisses me off to be called British but there is NEVER an option, OK to be Welsh, irish, Scottish, French, but not English. Perhaps there will be a pc campaign about it, but sadl ly not as you are supposed to feel guilty for being english |

I grew up in Derbyshire, raised by an amazing family.
I'd always thought of myself as white British through & through.
Found out in my 30s my birth mother's side of the family are Brazilian.
I'm not white & only a teeny bit British!

Born in Brum (only just). Proud daughter of immigrants. I am from the UK but I have an Irish passport and can apply for a Greek one if I so wished or could be arsed. Dunno what that makes me?! |

"It's strange how some people separate British from European!! "
I'm both. European isn't a nationality, so my nationality is British. Britain is geographically a part of Europe. |

Born in Scotland, but consider myself European first and foremost.
So European through and through.
Secondly British/Scots unless I have the European identity ripped from me against my will, then it will be Scottish with the hope of one day being accepted back into our European again (in that scenario I am all in for Scottish independence and subsequently invoking article 49)! |

Just let me slip in that I'm only half native British.
I'm technicly "mixed race"
But I supported brexit...
So have been told I'm an anti European racist even though my grandparents were from Europe. |

Irish but my father's family name origin is unknown, it apparently didn't exist 300 years ago, speculation that the name originated in Scotland or France. |
