Some people say winks are lazy? What do you think? I tend to use a wink not to be lazy but to see if people are interested if i wink someone and they wink back im happy to lay the first message, its just to see if theres a little interest.
Thoughts....? |

Well, next time you're out in public start winking at people and see what their reactions are. |

I don't wink but occasionally W will to gauge interest. I'll always look at who's winked at us but never do anything about it. If someone likes us then I'd hope they can take 2 minutes to type a decent message

As most of us guys know and have done, you spend time reading a profile look at the photos maybe fab one or two.
Then set to writing a message to them you make it a good respectful message putting in some effort and points you may have picked up from there profile. This may have taken some time to do anything from 30 minutes to an hour maybe more only for that message not to be read or replied to or just deleted.
After we have done this many many time it does start to become disheartening.
Wink and find out if that effort is worth putting in first. |

When I first joined fab I used to be trigger happy with winks! If I enjoyed reading a profile and it made me smile it got winked. After a while I thought hmm not getting any winks back so increased the winks whoops... but it actually worked and a few conversations started.
One woman in particular replied back 3 days later and me being cheeky said too late now! Luckily she saw the funny side and a few months later I was at her house eating breakfast. My first ever meet on fab was because of a wink.
Having said that if a profile states they don't want them or will be ignored or you will get blocked don't try your luck and go crazy with winks. Some people really hate winks. I rarely wink these days because they don't make profiles like they used to.
On a side note:
Ignore the winks are lazy comments. Don't be put off because they can be fun and most fabbers don't mind them unless stated in their profile! In other words be a responsible winker.
Happy winking |

"We treat incoming winks as a statement of interest and we wink profiles that we find interesting. Can't see any other reason for the function to be honest."
That! |

Yes I do the same thing. I used as ice breaker and see if they are also interested in me, if they respond, I send message. It's just save effort of sending message if receiver going to delete or will never reply |

Let's be honest 90% of winks are from guys
And being a guy its our way of saying hello without sending a typical message like "hey there youre attractive and i was wondering if i intrest you in any way" |

30mins to an hour before sending a message ? Honestly? Is that with wank breaks in between? |

Honestly, had never thought to use them, as I just always figured with how many of them the ladies must get, that they were pointless as didn't think any would have time to pay attention to them with all the messages.
Maybe I'll try sending some from now and see. |

Agree with post winks are not lazy, showing a sign of interest, and with a lot of couples and single females on here saying they get to many messages to respond to each one so just delete so why bother wasting time typing messages that are just going to get deleted with some not even being read “ NAH “ ( winks are not lazy just saves wasting everyone’s time). |
