Yes it can. Some people are rude some aren't and some are crazy and some not. Some are time wasters and some are not and some will meet and some will not. It takes ages at times. My advice is to go to the clubs. Not only is it easier to meet people but you find the keyboard warriors trolling aren't so much of a warrior in the flesh  |

Depends how far you're willing to travel, blokes on here saying 'i've got loads of ladies wanting to meet me'.. fail to mention most of them live 100s of miles away |

This!  it's often because we can have a face to face chat, I can get an idea of what you're into and if we're on the same level. It's also much safer in a club for the likes of myself. I never drink more than 1 if I'm at a club, I like to know what's going on and be totally aware.
I've met guys in a club that I've not played with because I've been with a couple on the night. But we've had a chat at the bar and got along well. I'm more likely to meet them again if that's the case |

I've found it even harder to be a single guy in clubs! My advice would be to tweak your profile to make it a little more attractive to the ladies, and concentrate on messaging a select few, don't take the scattergun approach. Good luck fella |

I think it is hard on here for some guys, but tbh they make it hard for themselves.
I see moany status's on my local updates, befure even looking at their profiles I've got a pretty good idea what I'll see, or not see.
A lot join here with the expectation they'll be knee deep in fanny, no understanding of how the scene works, or how to interact with the women they message.

Bottom line is that women and couples are overwhelmed with messages from men. As a couple of relatively advanced ages we aren't going to be top of men's hit lists but we still get around ten a day. That's 3600 a year when we meet less than 10 new guys a year. If that's us, think what a single woman in her thirties is getting...
Admittedly a good 80% of the male messages are the "hi there" or "I want to fuck ur wife" variety. Messages like that get nowhere. You can though make some progress if you make sure you only message people where you fit what they are looking for physically and send a message showing some personality. |

Yeah, over 80% of my messages are virtually content free or some variety of rude, disgusting, or abusive/ violent. (Of the remainder most haven't read my profile or don't interest me) It helps in a way, because if that many guys knew how to approach someone and sell themselves, this really would be a full time job! |
