Is it me but isn’t gambling pushing their advertising too hard, I’m sure most people aren’t bothered by this, but a lot of people get hooked and shouldn’t gamble their life away!!

I’m even getting emails from national lottery on a daily basis ffs

Rant over feeling better

Utterly loathe gambling advertising. These companies do a huge ammount of damage. We all have our week spots and vulnerabilites, especially at times of stress or clebration.

Some have a drink that leeds to a drink to many, some go shopping and overload the card. Others have a flutter and spiral into a gambling trap.

They banned cigaret ads. The same needs to happen the gambling.

I work in the gambling industry and agree that there is too much advertising from betting companies especially during sporting events. I also agree that there are a certain amount of people who suffer from problem gambling, and I for one cannot wait until the maximum £2 stake is applied in April next year on FOBT machines. Not only to help the people who claim to be addicted to them, but also to help the staff who work in these shops who suffer abuse on a daily basis from people who cannot or will not try and help themselves.

I pass a betting shop on way to get food for lunch and I always see the same people and the same machines.

One guy, in the minute I looked must have put about 5 bank notes into the machine. Deeply worrying

That is not uncommon. I have seen people put more money in to them in 20 minutes, than I earn in a month x

All gambling adverts and sponsorships should be banned, after all what's the difference between between gambling, alcohol and cigarettes?

Send that much on smooking and booze so quickly and it will kill you. Gambling takes you to a living hell.

Gambling addiction isn't new but it is easier to gamble now than it ever was. I would like to see a ban on advertising and very strict controls on gambling.

I've lived with a gambling addict and its every bit as destructive as any other addiction.

I don't place bets, or play any casino games, one weekend with an addict many years ago cured me for life.

But I agree everything from bingo to poker is advertised way too often.

Turn the TV off.

Remember that there is nothing advertised that you actually need.
