What brand of baked beans do you buy and eat?
Lidl do a big tin for about 36p. They’re lovely. I can’t taste the difference between those, and Heinz ones. |

Tesco value. By the time I've spruced them up with a splash of Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. They're transformed into the snack of kings. |

Actually I think I have tried these and they were passable!
Agree about the cheese!
Although I got that habit from my late father which gives me a twang x |

I’m not normally a brand snob, but Heinz Baked Beans are an example of where I am. A few years back I tried a supermarket own brand and they were a poor substitute so have never gone back.
Maybe with improved baked bean technology others have caught up so maybe I’ll give the cheaper alternatives another go .. |

"It's got to be Heinz for me. My mum always used to buy "No Frills" ones from Kwik Save when I was a kid and they were vile but I had to eat them, so I'll only buy Heinz or Branston now."
Me too! Kwiksave-6p a tin |

I can't eat them they are the only food that is 100% guaranteed to give me heartburn. Something to do with the sauce more than the beans themselves no doubt, but I've never found a brand I can eat. |

The struggle was real! She used to buy No Frills crisps and a No Frills version of Kit Kats as well, my packed lunches at school were depressing |

Fry finely chopped onion with one or two of the tiny green chillis, some whole cumin and a wee bit gara masala. Add beans one the onion is soft browned.
Put it on toast.
Cheese on top if required.

Just plain white wrappers with what's inside written on
Did she make you go with her and pack the bags in the wee bag packing area? |

I largely avoided having to go with her, but I remember the nasty flavour of No Frills cheesy puffs very well, I often used to put them in the bin at school and go hungry instead, they were that bad! |

I make my own , no sugar no salt
Do you specifically use the pinto beans or choose as you see fit?
"
I understood most baked beans are haricot , however I would generally use a variety , pinto and borlotti are favourites
Always with chilli xx |

Corale baked beans with a bit of butter and milk poured in to it with freshly cracked black and red pepper with a pinch of sea salt and grated Mexican/chilli matured cheddar.
Then whack it onto some freshly baked + toasted tiger bread from Morrisons |
