What brand of baked beans do you buy and eat?

Lidl do a big tin for about 36p. They’re lovely. I can’t taste the difference between those, and Heinz ones.

I posted this thread four minutes ago and there isn’t at least 20 replies.

Shocked, saddened and disappointed.

Tesco value. By the time I've spruced them up with a splash of Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. They're transformed into the snack of kings.

Actually I think I have tried these and they were passable!

Agree about the cheese!

Although I got that habit from my late father which gives me a twang x

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

I’m not normally a brand snob, but Heinz Baked Beans are an example of where I am. A few years back I tried a supermarket own brand and they were a poor substitute so have never gone back.

Maybe with improved baked bean technology others have caught up so maybe I’ll give the cheaper alternatives another go ..

I can't eat them they are the only food that is 100% guaranteed to give me heartburn. Something to do with the sauce more than the beans themselves no doubt, but I've never found a brand I can eat.

I largely avoided having to go with her, but I remember the nasty flavour of No Frills cheesy puffs very well, I often used to put them in the bin at school and go hungry instead, they were that bad!
