Hi guys
We’ve both been fans of this musical since it’s first incarnation 40 years ago (Yeah ! Scary eh ?) LP and cassette of course. It was the first CD I (Mr) ever bought.
We both went to see the live version for the first time in Manchester last night. Utterly amazing. Can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re a fan please treat your eyes and ears to this wonderful experience.
Breathtaking sound and vision.

(P.S. You guessed well. We enjoyed it ??) |

That's great to hear! Like you have been a fan for ages, but never got around to seeing it. Have tickets for Brighton on the 16th, been looking forward to it for ages. |

I saw it in Sheffield about 10 years ago, they still had Justin Hayward singing then, it was a fantastic performance. My dad used to play the album to us as kids so it always holds special memories |

I (B) went to see it in Leeds last night and you're right OP, it was outstanding!
Even my 7 year old daughter was spellbound and considering it was 2 1/2 - 3 hours long and went on well past her bedtime that speaks volumes for how enthralling was! |

"Saw it a few years ago at metro arena ....do they still do the live tweets and the Martian cam in the intermission ?
Indeed they do! "
When we went someone tweeted “half time and still no bloody Tom cruise “
And hubby waited till the camera was on him and picked his nose and ate it...
Can’t take that bastard anywhere |

Bugger off will yer!
I could have gone for free at the weekend, but typically it only popped on the radar after i'd booked my holiday...starting the day before.

Next morning a crowd gathered on the Common, hypnotized by the unscrewing of the cylinder
Two feet of shining screw projected when suddenly the lid fell off……………. 'bugger', he said 'that's too much salt on my eggs'.

a quandary, could you change my mind? |
"So want to see this, love it.
Headphones on, lay back, looking up at the stars and drift to a place in between. "
I think I might have just spoilt the idea of watching the stage show, I have just watched or rather skimmed through two YouTube clips of the show both with Ricky Wilson in and I have to say I thought it sounded terrible , or rather he did. |

"How strange, I didn't see this thread the first time round but i just started reading the book yesterday. "
Awesome to think that it was actually written at the end of the 19th century.
Enjoy |

Don't you mean "No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century" that this book was written |

There is a audiobook dramatisation by Jeff Wayne thats a cross of his musical version featuring music and sound effects but is much much closer to the novel (still with some creative licence) on Audible. It's narrated by Martin Sheen which isn't too far off sounding like Richard Burton |

Seen an advert for this. Might give it a whirl.
Thank you.
