Manchester (she/her)

A thing that may work for some and not for others in attaining an aesthetic goal. One which may or may not suit them.

Same as anything really.

I agree with the OP ... I don't get it why someone would want to use fillers and botox in their faces. I know lots of young women who do it and they are all pretty as they are. My older friends use it too and it's ruined their good looks. Go natural.

Beauty and fashion choices change over time

Some of the choices are better than others

We only need to look at some of the ladies in their 70's and 80's with deformed toes from squeezing them into winklepicker type shoes

As the lips and eyebrow fashions at the moment are instantly visible, they are more obvious than other beauty choices.

Sadly lips are getting bigger and unless they are natural then I don’t think they are attractive at all.

It doesn’t bother me. After all they don’t get their lips filled for my benefit. If my lips were to lose their fullness I’d fill ‘em back up pronto.

It's a weird look if it's overdone. Some look like they are going to explode.

Yep. My sister had to have bunions removed because of her continuous wearing of winkle pickers.

Some places have repayment plans. Hope you get a chance if you really want to.

Slough Windsor ish

The overt thick, overly dark and overly defined eyebrows are the worst... It's a relatively cheap and easily done/reversed effect and, in my opinion, looks at best unnatural but mostly ridiculous.

Fuller looking lips can be achieved with far more natural results with lip liner... No real need to go down the Botox route, other than for longer-term effect.

I think we probably notice lip filler when it’s done badly or OTT. I can imagine that there are plenty of women who have had a really good job done, that Joe Public would assume is just down to “natural beauty”

I agree.

I dye my hair but its only noticeable when the roots show because its a natural colour, I often wear makeup that's designed to enhance but appears as if I'm not wearing any and I can make myself appear to be 5ft 3 even though I'm only 5 feet tall

I also think people do these things for themselves. I gravitate towards noticeable makeup. I like it, it's fun. I don't do it the way others expect, just how I like it.

If people want big lips, more power to them.

"Natural lips here.."

I can see why this is done, it’s when it’s over done with theres the problem.

Wrinkles are the problem, there’s on ly so es much m will cover.

Smooth lips, no wrinkles, a re the ideal. Introduce smöking, years of lying on beaches, boobs going south, arm wings, etc

I'm going to sound REALLY old but so think.the excessive make up looks awful!

False eyelashes - a ton of fake hair and ridiculous eyebrows - topped off with lips that put fish to shame

Awful!

I’ve just offered to grade them all in terms of prettiness if you want to line up. Does that help? It’s not all about size

I think natural looks are best but fillers/Botox etc seem to be the fashion at the moment, it's up to the individual what they do with his or her face

I do agree with this... although I must admit I do tend to use a fair bit of make up and I have extensions in my hair but as for the rest ... Nah, but each to their own of course
