cahoots

The harmonica is impossible...it would seem you have to suck and blow at the same time while covering specific holes with your tongue...it's ridiculous.

It's all about breathing and tongue position....like so many things in life

First time you bend a note you'll not finish it because of the silly grin on your face!

Just remember they come in different keys, and so it'll sound rubbish however good you are if you're in the wrong key!

This is a cheapo one, don't know what key it's in, possible the key of Ouch, as the cats run for the hills when I try to play it.

Might treat myself to a proper one for Xmas.

Harringay

Its a bloody pain in the arse. Can usually pick things up pretty quickly but the harmonica is annoying. Been trying to learn coz i want finish a song I've been writing thats going great with a Dylan esque harminica part. You'd think I'd know more players.

FYI if anyones fancies recording a harmonica part for me then PM me

I've seen Mick Jagger and Lemmy both play harmonica live on stage, they were really good!

I got myself a set of harmonicas last year so I can play it on a few of the songs we do in the band. It’s much more difficult than I thought it would be. Still to get to grips with just one of the solos

That used to be the case years ago, or very high end ones. You used to have to soak them in water (some would swear by using whiskey) for the combs to swell, and to get a richer tone, and easier to play. If you did it lots now with a modern one, you could in theory damage it, but I think we're talking hours and hours of soaking in very humid conditions.
