"I don't think having a positive attitude in life saves you from the bad times but it certainly helps you cope with them.
Being positive is healthy imo "
I think we all have bad times but its how you react to them that counts.
But if you walked into a party and didnt know anyone but smiled and joined in you would have fun. If you just sat in a corner miserable then noone would want to speak to you |

You can be as positive as you can but a singer or writer can't make a person buy or listen to their creations.
But soon the positiveness could turn sour and full of resentment. |

I think you definitely reap what you sow and that a positive outlook can make a big difference in life, you can't always have a nice easy life but how you deal with the pitfalls can make them easier to get over. Z |

Life can be great or life can be shit. If you're a glass half full person then you will see that the shit times are there to highlight how good the great times are.
All life is a balance, to be _iewed in balance. |

sadly some people like to be negative about things to try and self elevate..
never a great move as you end up forgetting what you posted on previous threads and looking a complete tit.
just always be yourself... |

All the shit times ive had make me realize how lucky i am. When i go out i look at the blossom on the trees or stop and smell the roses. Sometimes if im bored, i will lean on the gate cause i know people will stop and chat(some) if you just say hello to them |

"How true do you think it is. Does positivity breed positivity or is it just down to luck, and vise versa.
I believe in it totally"
Last year I was in a very dark place. Probably the darkest place I've ever found myself in. I was given the advice to make a metal list of 5 things every morning that I was looking forward to or happy about and last thing at night to make a mental list of 5 things that had made me happy or smile that day however trivial they were.
I also cut out a lot of negative energy from my life (I know that sounds pretentious wank so forgive me), in particular I dropped friends who were always moaning about trivial shit.
It's amazing how much difference that has made. |

I believe that being positive has great benefits. You may not always be successful or lucky by solely being positive, but on the whole people will respond to you in a favourable light. That's if they are positive people themselves. People who enjoy being negative and putting others down don't tend to like positivity.
I am generally a happy person, sometimes I'm not and I find that I can be more cutting with people when I feel down which is not a good thing. It sticks in my mind that I've responded in this way and I'm enbarrassed about it. I am more aware when I've made a negative jibe to someone, even though I feel I justified at times, I won't let people walk all over me, but it sits uneasy with me. |

I believe in what goes round comes around, and am a happy go lucky kind of person.
Winning 1 GBP on a scratch card is still a winning to me.
I find being negative very tiring, and those closest to me are all glass half full kind of people.
Some people have more luck than others, and I believe in fate.
I count myself lucky to be alive and well every day, with a roof over my head, a job that I enjoy and allow me to live in comfort, with no major worries.

So agree with that statement from View. Also, positive people inspire, negative comments can drag others down. Hence I do believe to a degree in the effect "positivity" has on outcomes. |

Yes, I try to be positive and to pay it forward, its how I live.
I don't plan much for the future though- by living in the moment, so I am trying to balance that out this year more.
As someone recently said that I may be missing out on planning a future by living day by day, it made sense, so that is my aim for this year... |

"I'm going to get the best job I have ever had this year and with luck it will be overseas and tax free "
What is this luck of which you speak?
To quote Arnold Palmer - the more I practice, the luckier I get.
So set a realistic goal, identify the skills and behaviours that will get you to it, and practice them. |

I won £3.50 on Friday's draw for two numbers. Won £2.90 on the Tuesday draw for two numbers also. Third time really lucky? |

It appears Paul Simon's not the only plagiaristic person around, i've been a liflong golf fan and the "practice/luck" quote has always been attributed to Gary Player. They could each have coined the phrase independently i suppose. |
