"I don't have a television. Is it good news?"

It’s a documentary about what causes menopause

Watching it now, although I’m through my menopause.

Never took HRT after researching the side effects, had 7 years of hot flushes and used natural starflower to control them.

Quite a good programme. I’ve just started taking a Black Cohosh too for the flushes. Keeping most things crossed now.

Hope it works for you, I tried the sage tablets my doctor recommended and they didn’t work, but the cohosh worked the second night x

Great programme which will hopefully generate more attention around menopause.

I covered female reproduction in one of my medical exam units. The female system is very complex and hangs in the balance of hormones and how they all interact with each other. One out of sync upsets all the others

The depletion of Oestrogen causes all sorts of internal hormonal issues too!

If anyone is really interested the link below explains menopause

Thank you for sharing that link, very interesting if a little too detailed for my brain at this time of night. Interesting he says it usually starts mid 40's, I've had nothing yet at 50, just waiting!

I've missed it but will try and remember to get it on catch up.

I'm using menopace max and find it's helping with my flushes. I went to the doctors to ask for advice and was told to do my research on line! I came away with hrt patches, no blood tests or anything, I also came away very angry at their response

I had a tubal ligation 4 years ago and just paid over £4000 to get reversal, not for pre babies but the PTLS symptoms it causes . No more menopausal symptoms for me ( I was 36 ) some ladies I know have these symptoms at 24 ,26,27 ..

Nothing new and I apologise, I talk about it all the bloody time, most notably in Purple Mamba on Friday, naked (I was cooking) whilst sweating and in front of quite a few men.

I was told it could bring on an early menopause.

Think it would be worth watching as a man too, wouldn’t hurt for men to be more compassionate to the women in their lives!

Me neither at 46. Unless it’s the reason for my tantrums. Could be!

Mine began at 50 with mood swings, irregular periods and hot/cold sweats for 5 years. My 2 sisters sailed through and experienced nothing at all.

At the time I was a fitness instructor teaching 16hours a week and a 10kms competitive runner, made no difference to my suffering
