Ours is this Saturday and the amount of crap that’s gone on this year I see a few kick offs happening once the alcohol starts to flow. Dunno whether to be excited or nervous.

Are you having one?, are you going to it?

I'm going to one in a couple of weeks, don't really know why since all the younger folk will get boozed up & rowdy & conversation will be impossible due to the disco that seems to be escential to people having a good time.

oh the noise, yeah would rather talk without having to shout, then find yaself laughing as smiling when you’ve not heard a bloody word that’s been said

Mines in a few weeks time, the ones who normally go are a boring bunch who clearly don't get out much, they'll be d*unk and phoning taxis by 22:30! So me and my hot assistant have made plans to go out elsewhere afterwards

Ours is a nice sensible lunch in a pub somewhere.

This is my first with this company. The last team I worked in was a bunch of backstabbing women, so this will make a nice change.

I’ve also got one in US.

Not looking forward to the US one as one of the office managers wants into my knickers!

She’s not my type ..... and she’ll be d*unk.

Mines in a couple weeks simple easy night,

Nandos food

Cocktail bar afterwards

Beef happens between two d*unkards

Everyone watches as they attempt to fight

Everyone laughs

Go home

Get everything paid for by the company the next day

There and to the left a bit

The big one is this week but I shan't be attending - it's a couple of beer tokens each and then an overpriced bar with a few nibbles floating around and lots of interminable small talk which is just not for me.

Have a team one a few weeks later, which we have to pay for, but is much more fun.

Long gone for most are the days when a Xmas do at work was a fully paid for "thank you" to staff for efforts during the year and a chance to let your hair down at the expense of the company.

Mine’s on a Thursday night but it’s two nights before the Manchester social and I will have a visitor that night so I’m definitely not going. It’s rubbish having it on a week night anyway. Last years was the same, I ended up cornered by a sleaze from sales why kept telling me how dark I was and mysterious. I laughed at him and said ‘you have no idea mate, no idea’

We're going to the pub round the corner from work for a meal on Friday. Table booked stupidly early and once we've eaten I'm out of there, not really in to forced small talk with people who in the man are backstabbers. Only going because I'm not giving some colleagues the satisfaction of me not going. Hopefully I'll be home by 7!

Never again will I suffer the utter expensive, shitty crap that are the Christmas events.

Crammed in with people you'd rather avoid, eating massed produced, bad quality food, suffering cringe worthy 'entertainment' and the oneupmanship of who is wearing the most expensive outfit.

...and paying a huge amount of money for it. Once was enough.

I’m going to two company Christmas parties .... the 1st is always by far the worst! Management behave respectably and will halt at a reasonable intake of alcohol ‘ not at the Christmas party’ type thing....

Office staff.... it’s just becomes a drink fest, loud, stupid and makes me cringe....

As I read on a status update this week that made me laugh.... I’m sure he won’t mind if I quote it here...
