Prof Mcgonnagal - any theories?
Credence - Aurelius....theories?
Blood Pact - What's the difference between this and the unbreakable vow?
Who enjoyed the film? I was frustrated by much of it. Felt like a lot of exposition and setting up for the next film but I'm loving the story in general and so glad these films are doing what they are.

"Saw it today, and really enjoyed it!
I wasn’t sure if I would like Jude Law in it, but was actually very happy with him. "
Jude law was the only decent bit... Perve material |

Mcgonnagal wasn’t even born yet. JK confirmed this on Pottermore, but wrote this script yeaaaaars ago, probably not knowing it would be made into anything.
Credence simply can’t be a Dumbledore. Timeline doesn’t make sense He’s being told he is so he hates Albus and goes after him.
Blood pact - I just assume their magic wouldn’t work against each other
I really enjoyed it. Trying not to let all these things bother me. It’ll work itself out. |

Oooh, i think he is a Dumbledore! I reckon he's either the child of Ariana and Grindelwald, or Ariana and someone else because she was more than likely an Obscurus herself

one theory is that her obscurus attached itself like a parasite so credence somehow...
Love that Nagini has this tragic backstory. I didn't see that coming - not until the trailer ruined that particular twist. I'm not sure if it was general knowledge before then but obviously wasn't in the books....may have been put on pottermore at some point by JK I guess... |

It isn’t on pottermore - but Nagini translates into something (I can’t remember what, google it!) and I’m sure it means snake or something. So it was in front of us the whole time
I think Nagini told Voldemort about the Elderwand, seeing as she would have seen Grindleward with it. |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
Bit of a coincidence that a random baby swap happens to include two magic babies.
Unless it was a magic-only voyage, of course, although you'd think a couple of hundred wizards would have managed to avoid sinking if that was the case.
Also -Dumbledore has shit judgement. Blood pact with this bad guy, brings in voldermort - it's a miracle anyone took him seriously re: potter |

Indeed! However, if the timeline was now it wouldn't be appropriate, but the 19th century was very different in its attitude towards young people and until 1929 the legal age for marriage was 14 for boys and 12 for girls. If wizarding law was similar to muggle law, then I think it would be quite plausible that Kendra was hiding Ariana from the public eye to not only keep her from being taken to St Mungo's but also hiding the fact she could be with child, Aberforth resented his mothers secretive nature and bitterly stated that they learnt lies and secrets from her, maybe the biggest secret of all was the fact his sister was up the duff?! It could have actually been childbirth itself that caused Ariana to lose control and kill her mother? And even though Ariana was blonde, Kendra was noted to have jet black hair and dark eyes.... just like Credence!
That's my theory anyway lol x |

I never understood that Ariana was blonde. Especially since in Deathly Hallows part 2 Aberforth has a painting of Ariana and she has Jet black hair and also dark eyes. |

You might want to re-watch it, she's definitely fair haired, and she's even described as being blonde...
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Chapter 28 (The Missing Mirror) - "...single large oil painting of a blonde girl who gazed out at the room with a kind of vacant sweetness." This was describing Ariana |

credence would be dumbledores nephew if he was her sisters kid...not the brother.
what mgonnagal theories have people favoured? time Turner seems obvious by why send her back to that specific time? |

More like plot error to be honest, I think they just wanted familiar people to link you back to Hogwarts |

If we're going with theories I'm still sticking with mine lol illegitimacy in 19th century was a taboo subject, to protect the family name it would make more sense for a baby to be passed off as Dumbledore's brother as opposed to the child of his mentally unstable 14yr old sister. If you remember, at Bill and Fleur's wedding, their old relative Muriel argued with Elphius Dodge about Dumbledore's family and stated that Kendra was a "proud, terrifying woman who cared a great deal for her reputation". Maybe protecting the family's reputation was priority, including a child born out of wedlock? Ooooh, so many theories! Lol |

interesting theory but I doubt on the grounds of it not quite being wholesome enough for the HP universe.
Cant see it being a screw up to be retcon'd over Minerva though |

Less wholesome than Snape, verbally and emotionally bullying students? Or Umbridge, forcing Harry to write 'I must not tell lies' in his own blood? Or, the voyeuristic Moaning Myrtle, watching boys get naked without their permission? Or soul sucking monsters that rob you of all happiness and joy? The mass murder? The torture?
I think a teen pregnancy story would fit in quite well |

fair points. i guess the books did intimate ariana was r***d but quite subtly. perhaps credence was born after the attack and is half blood and to protect him from the truth they covered things up? May be dumbledore didn't know or possibly put credence up for adoption thinking he was a squib or non magical? (back when he and grindlewald were both all about the pure blood thing)
