In a loving relationship you should be able to ask your partner to do anything without fear of recrimination.
However, asking him to buy a velvet jacket? That’s taking it too far...... |

Would you wear clothing you didn't like just to please or appease him ?
Would you go out feeling uncomfortable and not really settle into the evening because of it ?
If he's said no, he's said no
Respect his decision and drop it |

Not trying to force him to wear anything he is not comfortable in. There are a lot in the shops at the moment so they are obviously in fashion. I just like the idea to running my hands over the fabric. Judging by the comments don't think I'm going to win this argument. A girl can dream. |

Ask him what he'd like you to wear and you might just get a compromise where you get to go out with him in the velvet jacket which pleases you and you get to wear a micro tartan miniskirt, stockings and suspenders no bra and a skimpy top |

There's the huge difference between what women like to see men in and what men like to see women in.
Men look suave; we look ridiculous. |

Mr here. I appreciate why Mrs T like them but as she says I feel they have a feel of the 1970s club singer about them plus they will fall out of fashion very quickly in my opinion.
As for choosing what she wears I do that frequently (apparently I have good taste) but I never ask her to wear anything that she feels uncomfortable with. |

They might fall out of fashion like most things do but it mostly comes around again and to be honest are you bothered if you're not in the current trend.
