We were chatting to a nice localish couple, the usual procedures were passed with flying colours. ( face pics, girls chat, chat on kik) A meet was definitely on the cards, just a social before arranging the big night. They have no kids so Amy went round to their place for a coffee. They got on great but Amy cut off all ties soon after. The reason? Their house was filthy....... we aren't snobs by any means bug she said there was dirty dishes lying around and mounds of dirty clothes all over. Massive turn off for her. Is she over reacting?
i have suggested a hotel but she is totally turned off....... |

No she isn't over reacting. Why do you think she is? If she doesn't want to take it any further that's the final word on the subject. Just as it would be if you had been put off. |

Not over reacting because if they knew she was comimg surely they would of made an effort to tidy up. If they can’t be bothered to tidy house they may be dirty themselves too. My wife would act same as your partner |

No, i don't think she is to be honest. I just think its a tiny bit disrespectful to not even put the dirty washing away when someone is coming over.
I am disappointed of course but if she says no then thats thd end of the conversation lol |

Hoarder type houses freak me out too
I used to have a friend that never cleaned her house
Stuff everywhere not a surface to be seen dirty dishes and ashtrays everywhere.
Pure filth!
She had mental health issues.
I tried to help her - but there's no helping some people
Surely you have to question people's personal hygiene when they don't clean their houses |

There is another thread running about a couple leaving because the host was hanging out clean washing. Maybe best to meet in clubs ! |

Agree with many of the posts here...
Its a reflection on their personal hygiene. If they can't clean the house, especially when they expect company, what will that say about cleaning themselves.
Besides.. No means no. |
