Just wondering what your general thoughts are on this. This year my Grandson's school have set up a Charity post box so kids can post a money envelope instead of buying gifts for teachers if they wish to do so. Think this is a great idea. They have chose Children in Need |

"That is such a good idea! I'm gonna suggest to my teacher friend! " That's what I thought, it becomes a challenge to some folk to buy the best present and then they might have a few teachers and assistants, at least this way no child will feel left out as no one can see how much you have put in the envelope

My Girlfriend is a teacher at a Prep School. Come Christmas the parents try and outdo each other. Whilst I’m not complaining about great fizz and Jo Malone candles I do wonder how the scholarship pupils parents feel about it.
Sounds like a brilliant idea. |

It really is a great idea. I always think the presents that teachers get are appreciated in thought ..... but disposed of swiftly in reality.
They don't need another mug do they ? Best that someone who needs your money gets it. |

I always made my kids teachers presents until they left primary school.
Something personaly itemised.
I just send in wine now they're at seniors.
I reckon the teachers deserve a few drinks after putting up with mine all year.

I don’t have children, but as a child myself I always bought my favourite teacher at school a present at Christmas! I loved her that much.
She recognised me years later in a supermarket and gave me a hug. The nicest teacher going!
I think it can make a difference, you never know what people are going through, and a little present to show your appreciation for their work can make them feel good. |

the right frame of mind -London |
I'm sure there are a shed load of teachers that mentally groan at all the teacher kitch they are heaped with each year -so giving to a charity is probably the better option imo |
