Really need a gym buddy male or female I’m not fussed and no strings attached. Just hard to keep motivated when you go on your own. Fit city gyms only swinton worsley or eccles I don’t mind any of them.

Good luck my friend, I hope you find one : I know it’s much easier to push yourself just that little bit further if you have someone pushing you on!

I prefer going on my own - at my own pace, doing my own thing

I don't react well to being 'pushed'

When I have a Personal Training session I know I work out harder than when I go on my own. I guess it depends on your goals. A mix is good.

I go to try and improve my (diabetes) health, not because I want to be buff.

It's a long term lifestyle change for me

That's why I like the gym I go to - there are more older lifestyle members than there are 'lads' who go to out bicep each other

There is a little group of them though. Spend more time talking and being 'laddish' than they do anything else

It's like The Inbetweeners with weights

ha ha I hear you my friend!

Yep my gym has a separate ‘testosterone room’ as it’s nicknamed - where all the muscly types go to work out and check each other’s measurements out! It’s quite amusing as they all strut around wondering who’s checking them out!

I avoid that and stay in the main gym as I’m just trying to de-lard a bit (like you a lifestyle change really) and as I’m a bit of a chubster I know when I’m in my own I might do 10 minutes on a sit up bike on level 8 whereas when I have a PT they’ll suggest 15 minutes at level 12 .. it’s just that sort of thing!

Good luck with the lifestyle change!
