My coffee machine broke last night and is being sent away for repair and they are giving me a loan machine when they collect it. The trouble is they can't collect it until Wednesday next week.

I'm struggling already without it. I made coffee in a French press this morning but it's just not the same .

Is it too early to have a gin and tonic instead?

"Vodka and red bull "

I can't drink red bull. The caffeine in it makes me physically sick but for some weird reason copious cups of coffee is fine.

I tried a cup of instant coffee last night and it was vile - I couldn't drink it so had a gin instead

most fundamental aspects

I get around the issue of my machine potentially breaking by having multiple back ups.

An Aeropress - check them out. Great for travelling with and make a coffee you would think was made by a barista.

A “spare” machine - It’s a Krups and if it wasn’t for my main machine also having a timer to let me wake up to coffee, it would be my front line machine.

Vietnamese drip filters - ideal for making iced coffee when the weather is warmer.

One of those plunger cups - last resort, as it makes coffee a bit like a French press and gets grounds mixed in at the bottom of the cup.

Just make sure you descale the machine regularly and it will prolong the life of it

As nice as a coffee is, I rarely have it due to it giving you teacher breath

Don't really think your problem is a broken coffee machine?

My local go to Cafe has been closed for 3 weeks for a refurb, I'm dying for one of their coffees, no other is as good as theirs imo. Sigh
