I love a long drive. Windows down and hitting the open road with gorgeous views. A trip to the Lake District or the Peak District is always fab.
However, the days are a bit short now and it’s a little cold outside to be out driving with the windows down.
Is there anywhere else that you guys know of that’s a good drive with a scenic route. Thinking of doing an autumnal drive.

I need locations people.
I’ve done Lake District, Peak District, Cotswolds, Jurassic Coast and a couple of others in the summer. But, where to go at this time? |

Down to the New Forest. The A3 is fairly scenic and reasonably fast. There are some lovely Surrey & Hampshire villages on the way ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

Nothing like a blast, lucky enough to be on the road alot (Europe) and always seeking new routes...
Total freedom and choice of nice vehicles (great cruisers or out n out weapons - very man cave thing to say but you'll get it).

Get yourself up further North - up in Dumfriesshire and across to the Borders is lovely....... though I’d wear a good warm coat ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

"Which peak District?
As in which bit of it, it's pretty big.
I did the Snake Pass route and just stopped at places along the way. "
High Peak, Derbyshire then, try some of the Staffordshire moorlands the Roaches are rather nice at this time of year imo. |

Coast to coast further up between Morecambe and Scarborough... Takes you over the moors and very scenic. Similar to your Snake Pass drive to be fair..... |
