I was on it for 5 years but I was lucky not to get any bad side effects from it. Took almost a year for my periods to start again though. Was off the jag for about 5 years but ended up back on it this year and again I seem ok on it so far. Hope it's not too bad for you OP xxx |

Thanks for the reply-
I'm all over the place, I've gone on the mini pill to try and sort out the hormones but I constantly get flare ups of getting real sore and huge boobs (obviously dont mind the huge part ) but I just wondered how long it took for others to completely get it out of their system xx |

Your welcome. I think most contraceptives take a while to wear off, as in pills and injections. Xx |

I was on it for about four years. Came off it when I was 18 and it left my system about six months after my last injection. Had absolutely no issues with it whatsoever and I always recommend it over the implant x |

Was on it for 10 years, longer than I should of been apparently.
It was the only contraception that agreed with me tbh.
Had enough a year and half ago and had a sterilisation via the essure method, best thing I did tbf. |

I never had any issues for 8 years other than aching muscles, but now I'm wanting to get back to normal and it seems to be taking it's sweet time thanks for the reply x

Yup even now I still have problems and occasionally have to kick start my period. I don't think the docs will do anything until its at least a year though. If she's worried tell her to definitely check with the docs. X |
