define safe sex !!!
using a condom during intercourse ?
using a condom during oral ?
contraception what does it mean really ?
condoms are great little inventions they protect you from all manner of std's and unwanted pregnancies and we all know you cant get pregnant fro kissing but what can you get ?

what I can do is be honest with the people I sleep with and try my best to be selective and go get myself checked out regularly

its so true its a world where people live and breath lies everyday whether it be little white ones or great big fat ones, although when i was with my last bf i refused to sleep with him without condoms till we both got our results in, in hindsight after over two years with him and finding out he was married and had a gf the whole time it was a pointless excercise, but for me at least god forbid touching the hairy wood if i did catch something id be pretty on the ball getting it cleared up and for me i couldnt not tell anyone id slept with i had anything

Which is my point exactly, I usually keep out of threads concerning GUM clinic visits as they make me smirk when I probably shouldn't be, but I do read them with a wry smile on my face.
Someone comes on and states they go once every Six months, then another will better that with their quarterly visit....then they will be trumped with the member who declares proudly that they visit monthly....
But unless members start to carry their reports around with them (like porn stars do on shoots) then it's all down to trust......trust from strangers, who people may have never met before and most often will not meet again.

ours does a telephone service and i think the records stay on till you update with a new record so i can phone and it will tell me when my last visit was what i was tested for and what the results were  |

yup...its not rocket science,decide those risks you are willing to take,be knowledgeable and well informed.
me thinks the OP is trying to stir up controversy with a subject that has not only been done to death,but that everyone has to make a personal decision about.
Risk assessment does need reasonable understanding of stats,which is often sadly lacking in these type of threads |

Exactly...whats the point in getting checked every 3,6,12 months if your at it with a different partner every or every other week??
And thats not taking incubation periods into account either..
But that said...we seem to be in a tiny tiny minority on this site...so its not our place to give our opinion any deeper than that...
Do what you do and enjoy..just be careful, use your head (scuse the pun!) and dont let lust take the place of common sense..
