Is anyone going on the direct action protest in London tomorrow?

If you don't know what it is, just search in Facebook.

Oh that is why there appeared six saplings planted around a little wooden plaque with Extinction Rebellion stencilled on it in the local park this morning. Had assumed it was some local fringe group.

A nonviolent direct action and civil disobedience day out is always welcome distraction from the daily grind.

On a serious note the earth is proper fucked up.

Basically, young people without jobs are going to try to piss off older people with jobs who are trying to enjoy their Saturday off in London, in the name of climate change.

Well it seems to have gathered a bit more momentum this time. I’m not sure I agree with the method of protest, but the cause is worth doing more than we actually are at the moment - the Government is totally ignoring issues such as these for its own self interest

If they are wrong about climate change , a few people have been disrupted for a few days

If they are right, and I think they are , about climate change then it's major problems for everyone all over the planet for ever .

Most people who are complaining about them , will be popping up save the planet posts on bookface tomorrow evening after watching Sir David Attenborough's new program

They are being arrested, hundreds of them. .ore volunteer every time there is a call for more willing to be arrested. The police have not understood that this is a deliberate tactic to keep this in the press.

How did all those protesters get to London in the first place. Did they all walk and cycle?

To slow down climate change we need to be doing less. Not bringing the bill out in droves in vans and cars.

Worthy cause though.

Near Wells

Although I kind of agree with their cause I think it's a bit odd. Surely they should be protesting in China, India and the USA who are the worst culprits.

If there are zero emissions or whatever they want in the UK will that actually make a difference to the planet as a whole??

A haze of sweet smelling pure air will hover over the UK. The rest of the world will be a stinking sweat hole.

It’s always best to blame other people and say its not worth doing anything as a result...

Thats literally what the protesters are doing.

But given by the old ipcc (spelling?) Data we've passed the point of no return on a feedback loop so hamstringing ourselves will only leave us unprepared.

Green subsidies/carbom tax should instead be being ploughed into flood defences and updating the water grid instead of being wasted on vanity projects
