I've started training 2 weeks ago 5 times/week. My gluteous muscles ache like hell. I do warm up and cold down and I stretch. What can I do to ease the pain?

Thank you all

Work out not so hard to let it pass then increase slowly ... most likely too much too soon which is very common but then you'll end up seeing a me!

Don’t forget to drink lots of water and don’t over work your muscles in the beginning..listen to your body and eat lots of protein.. make sure you enjoy your work out

Thanks me later

I like doms cos I feel like I’ve really worked hard.

They will ease as you increase training but they’ll never completely go.

When I used to train properly I used to use foam rollers, google doms and foam rollers.

You’re overdoing it. That thing about no pain no gain is old news now.

If you train at 80% of your limit, the ache won’t be there and you’ll be able to go train again the next day without limping around the gym.

This, if you're aching it means what ever you are doing is working.

Space your workouts out such as going every other day, plenty of water, take it easy to start with then really go for it......was getting sidetracked then

Exactly this

We started back 4 weeks ago and, from previous experience, we knew to start things slowly with less weight more reps, warm up the muscles whilst strengthening the ligaments and tendons. And as we go every day we never work the same muscles back to back, always give them time to recover from a good workout. We find a nice luke warm shower afterward seems to help

You know the old saying though “No pain no gain” x

Have an espresso before each work out as well but you’ll always get some soreness with any kind of leg workout. Just if you’re doing a split routine do legs say on a Monday and chest and triceps on a Wednesday. It’s always the 3rd day after legs that used to wreck.

The easiest thing to do would be ask a professional at the gym ... they are there to help and even better if you pay for a session or two and get a plan made for you!

On here you'll get so many different options but unless we know your details no-one can give you an answer and if it goes wrong it's awful and expensive!!

I only go two or three times a week to do weight training, I give myself a thorough beasting then let myself have a couple of days recovery before doing it again. I do cardio on my rest days though such as cycling or a run.

I do eat whole nuts too and fish apart from tuna. Not good to have tuna more than once a week (mercury)

A nice hot bath. Sauna.all help but 5 days a week is a bit much to start try starting with 3 days a week and then increasing. If you feel like you need to do more. Just try getting your #neatup24/7. If it for fat loss then also try and get into a calorie deficit. I lost over 15kg doing that. Xx

As said by others. Foam roller. Helps break down the tightness in the muscle and encourages blood flow for repair. Sounds like you are doing great, keep going. X

Exactly this

Too much too soon

That said , it is almost impossible for a beginner to avoid doms , it's just a threshold one needs to go through

As your body adapts you will find doms will reduce to almost nothing

Reduce your load and frequency , however active recovery not chair sitting will help oxygenate and sooth your muscles

So work out one day , walk, swim , yoga another ,

Too many people are all or nothing ,

Obviously clean balanced nutrition and electrolyte balanced hydration are vital x

Eggs are excellent for you and the only source of all the amino acids that we can't make... a proper whole food The cholesterol is only bad when eaten in excess the allowance is one egg daily but this also includes in food ie cakes and biscuits but if on a healthy diet then no worries

You do realise cholesterol in foods particularly eggs does not increase blood cholesterol.

I eat 30 + eggs a week and my cholesterol is spot on.
