"No, midterms aren't for that. It just shows that people are voting against his party now basically. Midterms are for seats for the house of representatives and the Senate xx"

"He's made gains in the Senate - he'll focus on that.
He'll curtail the power of the House so it doesn't matter he hasn't got control (or continually whine that they won't pass his legislation)."
Oh aye you know he'll twist it to suit himself! |

But isn't it the case that the incumbents take a kicking as they do in this country during the council elections?
Two different political systems for sure, but similar positions in terms of the payback for disenchanted voters. The opposition nearly always do better, iirc. |

Yes, even with a "popular" president like Obama, they like to give the incumbent a kicking. It was why he couldn't get the majority of his legislation through.
We will most probably see more Executive Orders as he forces things through that way. |

I thought the whole point of Executive Orders was that he bypasses the system? |

"Some media have reported that if North Korea disarm it's nukes then Trump might be nominated for the Nobel peace prize "
Some. If. Might.
It's best to work from what's actually known. |

As stupid as he is, as well as his narcissism, he knows he's rumbled. As others say, he can now blame his failures - and will - on the democrats.
It's harder for the Dems to gain anything there as the Republicans have made many changes that mean they can win seats etc with fewer votes now. Hoping he's a one hit 'wonder'

"I think Trump would negotiate better brexit than this shower "
Unlikely, ridiculous as that sounds. You only have to read The Art of the Deal to see why he's mentally incapable of statemanship.
He even managed to lose money on casinos. Amazing really. |
