Sucks like a Dyson

This might be the dullest thread, so apologies in advance. But I need a new vacuum and don’t know what is best. I currently have a Hoover Sprint, that I bought cause it had good reviews, but it’s not man enough and I’d be better off with a dust pan and brush.

Any suggestions!

My mum got a Shark one and said it’s better than a Dyson. I like my Dyson though.

Hubby’s gran died a few years ago and we got £4000 - it was the first ‘grown up’ thing we bought (we had been moved in together for two years but not many things we bought were new).

I'll second that. I bought a shark about 5 months back. Was far better than the previous Dyson which I'd had for 5 yrs...so yes technology has improved but they cost much the same 5 yrs later.

Henry’s are good for sucking up water (although they aren’t supposed to)

Henry's are rubbish. I used one at work for three years. They're too bulky, can't pick up staples (it's an office FFS!), bags are a pain to fit, hose uncurls itself and won't reconnect, flex gets stuck under opened doors and carpets.

Never used a SHARK, as I have a VAX, but I won't buy a DYSON. So my next one may be a shark, if the price is right.

I've seen GTECH AIR RAMS in action and wasn't impressed.

I find whichever hoover you choose is always the wrong one. I bought a Vax a couple of years ago and think I should have gone for the G Tech Ram.

I bought my mum a Shark. She loves it and it did an amazing job cleaning the car. She has arthritis in her hands/wrists and can't lift heavy Hoovers but has no issue with her Shark and her bungalow is cleaner than it has been in years.

Depends if you have a budget or if your prepared to pay any price.

I have always purchased Vax, I have only purchased 2 in over 15 years they do last very well. Not the most expensive brand either. Never liked Dyson nor the Henry both of which I have used extensively through employment.

Vax is good value

Dyson expensive brexit voting shit , pretty , poor building quality , moderate power

Henry

Expensive , moderate suction, build quality bomb proof

Shark , build quality great , design very practical, suction just better than Dyson

Dyson. Work really well in general plus we have 2 cats which moult constantly and it copes brilliantly with that too.

I don’t like uprights so my hoover of choice was always the Henry and with a twist of the head you can get under most furniture without pulling it out. Your miele blizzard is the same concept, cylinder but has a hell of a suck on it.

We used miele and Henry’s older brother the yellow James when I worked as a crime and trauma scene cleaner as we needed bag cleaners and they generally have longer leads. We used other hoovers (I cant name) but you’d never get them on general retail as they were for sucking up blood and body fluid and hazardous waste like poo poo and vomit.

Neato botvac. It's awesome! It hoovers on its own. I often sit and watch it cleaning while I have a coffee. It's quite entertaining as well.
