Anyone else see the word "Genuine" in a profile as an immediate "Nah, mate". It gives me the feeling of someone trying to hard... Like an actual genuine person wouldn't need to describe themselves as such.
Any other phrasing that causes an immediate No from you? |

Not a phrase so much. As a hobbit sized person I tend to skip to height requirements 1st to see if its even worth reading the rest of a profile whether they're genuine or not |

Ah, yeah. 'Alpha' is another alert too. As I've said before, just makes me think of Alaphabetti Spaghetti. |

I don't use the word genuine in terms of myself, I don't feel the need as plenty know me and can make up their own minds. I do sometimes use it in terms of others though who I feel are true to themselves, in order to distinguish them from the occasional false people I've encountered (the ones who are nice to your face only, the ones who pretend to be 10-15 years younger than they actually are, the ones who just say what they think you want to hear in order to meet you, but aren't really looking for the same thing or don't really share your interests, the ones who would sell their soul for a few more fabs)... I suspect a lot of other people (intentionally or not) use it the same way, because, if you've had a run of bad experiences, it can be quite refreshing to meet genuine people |

Oh, yeah, I've got no issue with people using it to describe other people. It's when people use it to describe themselves it comes off as a bit creepy. |

" Surely their are different degrees of need for trust in this life, you trust they are not axe murderers and bad people in general, the fact they as adults and married but want sex with others doesn't mean they are bad people, they just want sex and surely fabswingers in its many different facets offers the opportunity to have sex to consenting adults, if you choose not to have sex with them so be it but they're not always people to be scorned for the choice they are making, which could be for many different reasons

All of that nonsense annoys me but not as much as profiles that say ‘will fill in later’ or ‘....’
The Sydney University notices make me think it’s either someone gullible or too lazy to write much to fill their profile.x |

If I see the word genuine used in profiles, I usually think people have encountered lots of timewasters and non genuine people from hook up or swinging sites. It kind of seems like a code word for people who will actually meet up. Don't see a problem with this one. |

It genuinely does OP. And yes, there are others, many of which have been gathered here today.
I may rewrite mine with them all in it! |

"So reading on this do we all conclude that its someone with 'Genuine arsehole' on their profile is what we are looking for? "
No, no, no! It's Genuine proffessionals that have been here before and know how it works that also have a silhouette avatar but will delete your message unless you attach a face pic and want you to type Felching in the subject box so they know you read down to the last sentence of their profile text! |
