Make sure you tell him how miserable you've been and how it's affecting how you feel about yourself.

Good luck, hope it goes well! x

I hope you have found the best Doctor for you. Good luck.

My lovely dermatologist retired 18 months ago. So I’m back being passed from pillar to post every 6 months with foreign speaking docs who don’t have a flipping clue about my Rare skin condition. I’m sick of it.

It's the acid forming food and drinks you want to limit and increase the alkaline forming ones. The red itchy patches are acids excreating from your lymph nodes and the flakey skin is your immune systems response to the acids attacking your skin cells so it produces more and more to try and protect itself. If you have a bath with epson salts in it will have a soothing effect because the salts are neutal to alkaline that soak into your skin neutralising the acids.

What kind of foods are worst for acid forming and best for alkaline forming? And I’m going to pinch that tip with the Epsom salts.x

You can find the extensive list by googling acid forming foods and then switch to images, but the worst things are wine, coffee, choclate, meat, artifical sweeteners, pasta, shellfish, pastries, cheese ect, and the most alkalising things are raw spinach, red cabbage, cucumber, raw celery, carrots, sea, onions, lemons and limes. Simply shining a light on your skin will only treat the symptoms and wont address the cause plus you have an increased chance of getting skin cancer which is far worse than psoriasis

Fingers crossed for you. The light treatment didn’t work for me but reading even more on this subject makes me think what works one time may not the next and what didn’t work could well do now. There’s so many types of this irritating skin condition

I have psoristic arthrtis and the methotrexate and daily vitamin d work wonders. Been on 22.5mg s week for the past 12 years. If i cant take the methotrexate for any reason the psoriasis starts to flare again.

Have they given any indication of when you should see an improvement? It could still be early days. They wouldn't prescribe 9 weeks if it was cured quicker. x

Is the methotrexate injections? As that’s my next step if uvb don’t work , I’ve noticed a difference the last few days top of my back has cleared n other places have faded n it’s all the places I’m very itchy now where I wasn’t before ... just hope it clears n I can begin to feel normal again n not be so anxious self consious n embarrassed x
