"Have you seen the aldi one - kevin the carrot - what's all that about "
I love Kevin the carrot! Although someone on Facebook did point out that he is driving a box of his fellow carrots to go get peeled and chopped up, cooked and eaten.... A bit sinister for Christmas lol |

Am I alone in thinking it’s wrong to have Christmas shoved down your throat before Armistice Day has passed? Particularly this year which marks 100 years since the end of the Great War.
I know that our ailing retailers rely on Christmas so I understand why it starts so early but I’m uneasy about it. I’m no Christmas Scrooge either, I absolutely love it, I just don’t have any love for it in November. |

"Christmas adverts hit the TV today. Too early or ok? " doesn't affect me really, I love the party of Christmas and don't get involved with the shopping extravaganza

"At least wait until after Bonfire Night" agree, seems to be forgotten as years go by, I’m one of those annoying people that put up Xmas lights outside the house early but I do wait until December x

At least you wait until December. . One of my neighbours has had lights up for over a fortnight, it doesn't bother me as it just means that Western Power's profits go up which means my Dad's Western Power shares go up (retired employee) and my inheritance goes up |

Any time other than December is far too early in my opinion. But then again I have worked in the wholesale business before so my Christmas season used to run fro. January to September at shows etc so I'm a massive scrooge anyways haha |

I was going on holiday and went into my local Boots in mid September to buy an electrical adaptor.
"Over there" said the assistant.
Couldn't see anything, so I asked another.
"Oh," she said, " We cleared away the summer stuff yesterday to make way for the Christmas display."
Third week of September.

I was in Debenhams on the August bank holiday weekend. They’d already got those horrifically expensive alcohol gift sets on display. |

"There are 12 days of Christmas...
None of them are in November!!!"
Considering five of them are in January I can fully understand why retailers don’t use the twelve days of Christmas as a timeline for advertising |

By preparing for Christmas it doesn’t stop you recognising and supporting the remembrance of Armistice Day though does it? Well it doesn’t for me. Can’t speak for others.
The more people prepare early the more time to enjoy all the fun family stuff the couple of weeks before. I prefer that to running around packed shops the week before getting stressed about things.
Christmas is a time to be enjoyed by many (obviously I recognise it’s not for everyone). But it is the ‘festive period’ not the 25th December. |

You put it better than me lol was trying to work out why the 2 can't happen at the same time. In fact a lot of poppy sellers are in shopping centres where people are out buying stuff for Christmas so it benefits them really.
People just like to moan and display faux offense at things these days. |
