The whole Christmas thing does always seem very divisive, but for me it’s meant to be a season of good will, happiness and joy to all men (and women. And gender fluids etc)
With the dark nights and drizzle I like the idea of a prolonged jolly season. Why not embrace it and be happy?
I can’t wait for the Christmas markets to open and the festive ice rinks to appear etc. I love it, it’s a good time of year when people are (mostly) happy and there’s a positive atmosphere generally.
I do appreciate of course that for some it’s a very sad or difficult time or year and I hope they have the right support networks around them!
But for me? Bring it on!! Ho! Ho! Ho!  |

Hijacked by the Catholic Church in order to get the greater pagan hordes to convert to the 'New,Religion' in the third century AD not recognising the new religion and practicing the old was punishable by death.
However, call itvwhat you will, Yule, Saturnalia, The Winter Solstice they all cover roughly the same period in December / January.
I prefer Winter Solstice, Mrs. prefers Christmas. |

One thing I dislike more than Christmas starting early is people moaning about it starting early.
If people are so against Christmas starting early, why encourage everone else to talk about? |
