Most gyms have yoga now, or look on the small poster ads in the supermarket for local classes posted up, or try the British Wheel of Yoga website. A beginner's class will start you off, the tutor should ask you about injuries, health etc. You look like you have an active life, so shouldn't have any problems.
Beginners will be mainly bending and stretching to learn the basic strength shapes, such as Warrior pose, which lead on to more complex connected up poses until eventually you are doing a sequence.
Don't need lycra, would recommend something fairly close fitted though so you don't have clothes flapping around as you twist and turn.
And a daytime class will likely be all ladies, which could be useful to you, although many will be my age!
Namaste

Thankyou very much, information is great. Precisely what I needed. No problem with ladies of your age lol. Fitter than most younger. Close fitting is doable. Will look for a local one in Denholm maybe Sunday mornings. Thankyou Darren x |
