Here’s the situation

Very difficult to determine what’s going on with the absence of a lot of details or context. Just reflect and consider whether it was a joking comment based of the vibe of a conversation or joke or whether it was a call out challenge?
I’d very much suspect given the nature of an outburst in a team meeting that someone has recognised your fab profile and your colleagues are aware, or that your general office conversation, behaviour and/demeanour has led your colleagues to believe you are a swinger.
Either way, I would think your colleagues have spoken about this suspicion and the woman in question carries the loudest voice to publicly call you out. I’d very much doubt that it was a public flirt to suggest she was looking for any extra curricular activities but hey I could be wrong?
I’m not going to comment on the ethics and moral dilemma of cheating, I’m not here to judge anyone but I will say that if your colleagues suspect then who else does? People talk and rumours spread fast!
I’m terms of the public challenge, I’d personally think that was unacceptable. I’d certainly want to clear the air with the woman in question and understand where that question had come from and why it was raised in the why it was i.e. in front of your team and explain the impact of her action in doing so.
Equally, I’m sure there’s an avenue of support available through your line manager, HR, union and company policies should you feel that is the appropriate route for you
But just to be clear, I don’t believe the manner in which she called you out was an invite for any fun or action |

Tell who you like but there would be a very clear line between me and her, if in your shoes. She's not particularly sensitive to boundaries and doesn't seem to show discretion. Let her find any sex she needs and information on swingers elsewhere. Or speak with your wife about your full life and organize a party night with her and husband, plus any work colleagues you fancy at a local club. What could possibly go wrong? |
