I want to write "what a wonderful post" as it's relieving you found them a good place to turn to, but I'm sad you needed to in the first place.

I'm sending you all of my best wishes

X

Hefty Hideaway

I’m glad you had a positive experience. The Samaritans provide an invaluable service and are a truly worthwhile way to volunteer your time. This is definitely something I will look into when my kid has flown the nest.

I hope things look brighter soon op x

I've been at both ends and it's great to see people come out of the other side a lot happier.

LGBT people seem to be more 'prone' to mental health issues, according to the research I've read, which my own experiences bear out. x

At times we all have shit happening but it’s good to talk about it. I did this week with a friend and she made me see that everything was alright really.

Keep your head up OP

North Bucks

When I was younger I volunteered with them as I had to do a project and they were a great bunch.

They just offer someone to talk to and that’s all you need sometimes.

I think they are brilliant people to give up their time like that 24 hours a day.

Yes especially if it’s something you have to do and not chosen. Neighbours can make life so hard and there’s no escape if they’re that bad. But good luck with your new home x

I spent 8 hours in police custody before they realised it was a crock of crap ....and released me... but that's not all of it ... I've had a year of this 'kin religious ponce (yeah he's one of those) ...I really really am so sad

Yes Samaritans are good when you need to rant, get things off your chest of just need a listening ear, you don't have to be suicidal.

Also I can say is sometimes when things seem really shit, something good comes out of it.

Years ago I got finished from a job I was good at due to a dodgy area manager.

At the time it felt terrible, but the job I got subsequently (after 9 months on the dole)is where I met one of my absolute best friends, and through them another of my friends met his wife to be.

None of that would have happened if I'd not lost my job.
