"I'm not fake - just a seasoned swinger with some lovely friends I met on this site. I've got genital herpes and do most of you, but you wouldn't know unless you've had a breakout. Even if you don't know you've got it, the virus sheds a few times a month so you can spread it unknowingly. I may have had it for years as once caught either orally or down below it lives in your body for ever. I may have caught it from somebody performing oral on me who gets coldsores, even though they may not have had one, or via bareback, which head happened occasionally. Make yourself aware to keep the community safe. There's a great patient information leaflet on herpes.co.uk It's a silent stalker but the majority of British people have it in their system so nobody's safe. It's also not the worst that can happen. It can only be diagnosed when you've got active herpetic lesions- spots, sores, painful urination. It is diagnosed by a swab but is time limited, only affecting the person for 5 to 7 days. Get yourself checked if you have any of the symptoms. I'll get my coat. " Right

"Why the hell would anyone block the O.P. ? That's just downright callous. They are a person with a problem doesn't mean you have to fuck them and you don't have to ostracize them. In any case ..... you should be so lucky." Yes "lucky" is a word that often goes in the same sentence as "herpes" Your posts do provide the most entertaining example of in-group bias available on the forum though!

" This is a case of throwing common sense out the window, just to make a point..... People on this forum get ostracized for being married and cheating, barebacking , and playing with people who some don’t approve of... If someone told me they have herpes , I will not meet them.... so that’s why I will block her.... Plenty of people will meet her and don’t care... She won’t lose any sleep over me

"It’s good that you’re being honest and all, but this is an example of something you keep to yourself, unless you need to tell past partners who may be at risk, and protect yourself going forward. Not sure what you was hoping to achieve by posting it here but I doubt people will be queuing to meet you now Just my opinion of course. Hope you get it under control " It won't effect it. People on here have far worse than herpes and are in triple digit bareback verifications

"So just catching up with the thread. A few thoughts: Firstly, sorry to hear that OP, it’s very open of you to disclose this on a public forum and from your post I’m assuming until a few weeks ago this was something you were entirely unaware you had and are shocked that you have it. I appreciate that you’re trying to increase awareness and your second posting on the thread is very helpful in that respect and everyone should have a read of it and take note! Anyone having casual sex however ‘safe’ they play is taking a risk. From your opening post I can understand your concerns and why you might want to stop meeting for risk of spreading it. At the very least you must make sure all prospective partners are fully aware so they can make a fully informed decision on whether to meet. I tend to agree with Granny Crumpet, you’ve got a problem and need support but you’re also trying to spread awareness to help others, so I can understand why people might block you, but being ostracised for being open isn’t helpful to the overall pursuit of knowledge for any of us, is it? " This is rich..... People seeking out knowledge about Herpes.... I think you’re confusing ostracizing someone and making a personal choice about your personal health...... But I get it , she is a woman so she needs hugs... If a man posted this , I think the reaction would be different....

"Wow you people are nasty bastards. 80% of you carry it, only a small percentage have symptoms. It’s peiole who have it WITHOUT symptoms that spread it. Those who do have flare ups know when to abstain to prevent transmission and they tend to feel so ashamed of it that even the slightest tingle will mean they don’t fuck anyone at all even trusted partners who aren’t as close minded as you. I dated a man with it for years. You take precautions, you watch for the signs. You recognise you’ve probably got it yourself but you’re one of the so-called lucky ones who don’t get lesions. Go educate yourselves you horrible people. OP. This shouldn’t be a “brave” post. All kudos to you. Xx " Do you have herpes?

The nastiness that knowing herpes carriers suffer is unjustified. Should they never have sex again even with a manageable condition? Incidentally, you might be in the 20% as I said but you might well be in the 80% carrier group just without symptoms. I don’t care what you do. You can choose to sleep with whoever or not. It’s your right. Just a little empathy for those trying to get by wouldn’t go amiss. That’s where the nastiness lies. I’m done with this site. I’ve only been back five minutes but the forums, the shit people send, it never gets any better. All the best to you all. Just try to be kind.

It simply won’t come up on your sti screen. So up front, my sti tests say I’m clear. But I’m not a smug bastard about it. I’m very sorry to say this but I have never had a cold sore... So you’re 80% theory might be wrong..... Good luck in your swinging adventure... I will add you to my block list also Or you’re just in the 20%. Either way #cryingsohard Well lucky me , I’m in the 20%. I must be a nasty person because I won’t play/meet with people Herpes.... Just think about that for a minute...... Not a smart or prudent person, but a nasty person... So in your mind , meeting a playing with some with a STI is a good idea and makes you a good person..... Don’t twist my words. Xx Do you have herpes? I don’t know. All my STI tests have been clear. But that means nothing. I supported a wonderful man through a long and happy relationship but he was broken by a virus he caught unknowingly at some point in his past. Why are people not honest on a open forum? If you can’t be honest here , where can you be honest? People on Fab won’t meet people because they are married playing away , they smoke , they use drugs, they bareback, they can’t accommodate, they are short, fat , bald , skinny, black , Asian, White and have bad teeth. Where is the empathy for these people? Where is the compassion for these poor souls...

Twice you’ve tried to make it about men/women. These conditions are indiscriminate. Push your agenda all you like.

"I’ll say what everyone is thinking..... I’m going to block the Op and everyone of the people who has verified her...." In that case you'll also need to go through all the guys verifications of the females and couples they've met and block them also, then go through thier verifications and so on and so on until you'll end up blocking pretty much everyone on this site. Plus what about the meets where no verifications have been given? If it's a real concern then may I suggest an alternative pastime such as becoming a monk!! As already stated, most of the human global population carry the virus but it only shows itself at a time it is 'triggered' such as 1) run down immune due to stress 2) increased vitamin c intake - abundance of fruit in days of old meant breading season was underway. 3) antipation of sexual activity is also a trigger - yes, just thinking about having sex can trigger as the virus responds to stumuli that increases it chances of finding a new host. As it 'lives' within the nervous system, it is eavesdropping on in nerve communication to pick the best time to be passed on, the same for chicken pox virus that secondary symptoms are excruciating pain and rash at the nerve endings in the skin. It is one of the most successful virus's on the planet in that it can quietly spread without destroying it's host and as suggested over ir nearly 80% of world population are carrying it with the majority blissfully unaware they have it. Ebola, although extremely dangerous if caught, it is a 'stupid' virus in that it quickly kills it's host before getting chance to spread to many more victims other than those in close proximity for a few days which is why it is fairly easy to control and irradicate. You simply quarantine the people they've been in contact with for the last week before they died as well as the body handlers. Sometimes I dont believe the sheer nastiness on this site... but then again its the human condition to better oneself by belittling and hurting another. Mr Trump ring any bells?

"Oddest post ever I think. Most swingers do not have genital herpes. I know a lot and actually, except for you, don't know of any with herpes. I know a few non swingers with herpes as they are less careful and don't get checked. An extended STD test will check for it and most responsible swingers will do that fairly regularly. " Have you actually chosen to ignore facts? Well known, common, easily accessed facts?
